Congratulation to Jonah in Y8. Finishing in 15th place in the All-Around (U14) gymnastics competition, then qualifying to the British Championships for the first time and improving his result to 13th place! Then finishing in the top 8 on High Bar and top 12 scores on floor 👏 👏
Last week, we had 8 Y9 students on the “Knock your socks off” work experience with @networkrail (also in conjunction with @theTRUpgrade and @TPExpressTrains). They worked in many different areas including rail management, communications and engineering 🚂
Applefields held a penalty shoot competition, It was an amazing turn out! It cost £1 to enter with the money raised going to the 2 nominated charities that Class 21 are supporting which are the RSPCA and Children in Need. Well done everyone!
As well as extra reading time being given in lessons, for #worldbookweek, students have been set on a treasure hunt, to find out which books mean the most, to those around them #worldbookday
Today a select group of Satellite students represented the school and presented their active travel campaign to a panel of judges and students at St Peters School. We were awarded £230 to help pursue our campaign plans!
Our competition this week was the American game of Kanjam. Classes have been practicing Kanjam recently which involves throwing and deflecting a Frizbee towards the Kan. 17 pupils participated all achieved some success but the overall joint winners were Corey and Euan.

Our first competition of Frizbee golf was played this week. Ten pupils took on the challenge of the three hole par 8 course.
Top of the leader board was Ronnie with a very respectable two under par round that included 2 birdies.
Sixth Form Leaders launched the Amnesty Write for Rights campaign in Y8 forms last week. Forms have written letters as a group and these are being sent off by the Sixth Form Amnesty Team.
This week 25 pupils from lower school took part in a kurling competition and fun was had by all. The joint champions were Joe and Alisha who were the only pupils to score maximum points.
During half term were joined by a voluntary by Saint-Gobain who kindly started the work on our new Adventure Sensory Garden. Thanks to the people power, equipment and kind donation of a skip from S and J Energy. We cleared the whole area in just a day!
Three teams from upper school all played each other in the latest basketball competition.
It was great to see the improvement in skills and teamwork throughout the games.
