We need to face how divided and misinformed parts of this country have become. In North Carolina, FEMA and the National Guard are doing their jobs, assessing damage, setting up recovery areas, and delivering aid to a region the size of a small European country. The government isn’t hiding casualty numbers; every person has to be identified first. The National Guard can’t just conjure bridges or roads out of thin air, and they’re working within the same limitations as everyone else.

There’s a reason they’re grounding helicopters and private drones. Rouge drones and aircraft flying without coordination put rescue teams at risk. Sending untrained, well-meaning volunteers into the terrain only creates more problems, often turning them into the ones who need rescuing. If you want to help, reach out to an aid organization, or join the National Guard for the future. But stop trying to play hero and spreading conspiracy theories about land grabs or government neglect.

Politicians like Donald Trump and TikTok personalities claiming to have the "real truth" are exploiting this crisis to rile up their base, using misinformation and fear to distract from the real issues. They're manipulating you, turning disaster into political ammunition. If you truly want to help, don’t spread lies or fall for conspiracy theories. Learn the facts, understand how these systems work, and channel your energy into real action, not sensationalism. In times of crisis, misinformation only deepens the harm.
