Foreign Minister Senator Wong is confusing ‘weapons’ with ‘parts’ of weapons — and ‘supply chain’ with ‘direct flights’.
In response to a Greens’ question in the Senate regarding information published by @DeclassifiedAus revealing “parts and components” for the F-35 fighter jet being exported from Australia to Israel this month, foreign minister Senator Wong at first answered:
“We are not supplying *weapons or ammunition* to Israel. We have not done so since the Hamas-Israel conflict began, and for the past five years.”
Declassified Australia’s recent report is not that “weapons or ammunition” have been exported to Israel — DA’s report stated it was “parts and components” that are being exported directly to Israel.
Challenged, the minister admitted parts were being exported, but to a supply chain, not to Israel: “The F-35 as part of the global F35 supply chain, we contribute components and parts that are non-lethal in nature”.
Declassified Australia’s story showed parts for the very lethal F-35 fighter jet are indeed being exported — not only to the global supply chain — but are being directly flown from Australia to Tel Aviv in Israel.

This is a big part of his online success imo. He and his crew understood that the politician is supposed to play the straight man while their community makes content around them.
It’s one thing to leave your party during a parliamentary term, but to switch right after the election from a minor party *to the government* is wiiiild
“Why did burning girls matter in Vietnam but not in Gaza?”
The 'Napalm Girl' photo shocked the world and helped end the Vietnam War, writes @JehadAbusalim, but a child surrounded by flames in Gaza can't even provoke a ceasefire.

It’s so funny to me that back in 2017 the marriage equality campaign sent one single text message out and was treated like some sort of terror event, and now Harry Fong nonstop texts me like he’s in the group chat
It’s actually sick that a tiny group of foul white supremacists have managed to propel Welcome to Country onto the election agenda because so much of the media immediately legitimised their grievance. They’ll be rubbing their hands in absolute GLEE at the way media took the bait.
Yes, but any good campaigner would be blasting Teal seats/contests with the fact the Liberals have preferenced One Nation SECOND in 139 of of 147 lower house seats
This won't advantage L-NP vs Labor anywhere, it is just mostly just moving minor right candidates who will get excluded anyway below them. Didn't see all the originals, may be some where this helps L-NP vs defecting INDs.
@ginarush@AmyRemeikis It’s this really great tactic I employ where I don’t open the message if I know I don’t have time to reply/engage with it at that moment so leave the notification there to remind me to read it later. True count below. Clearly it does not work 😇
Rumours, rumours everywhere; election called tomorrow being one, the Coalition making mortgage repayments tax deductible (which would be insane - but then hey, so is nuclear!) is another
