Now that I am retired from active farming, does anyone know of a young livestock or mixed farmer who could benefit from mentoring. I would like to put something back to the industry that has given me so much.
In the UK we import 42% of our vegetables and a startling 89% of our fruit, predominantly from water stressed countries where we are increasingly dependent on their precious water resources https://t.co/aaZgFv48gd
We need more parallels like this, putting things so elegantly and understandably into context. Come on @NFUtweets@NFUStweets@AHDB_BeefLamb@AHDB_Dairy etc, please stoke up your soundbite generators & share the best for us to pass on and add to.
Love Lamb Week is coming and we're calling on industry and the public to get behind the campaign and show your support for British farming🇬🇧 ! Retweet to spread the word. #LoveLamb#LLW https://t.co/mzjtdsVyeM
If we as farmers produce 10% of the Carbon in this country, off 85% of the land mass of UK,surely it's the 90% off 15% of land that needs addressing first!
'Eat more beef, not less: Mindlessly jumping on the “all beef is bad” bandwagon, as campaigners at Goldsmiths have done, is hugely counterproductive,' writes @SusFoodTrust founder Patrick Holden

Source and sink ... great phrase @Minette_Batters . Big problem with the carbon footprint arguments are that they're often so complex and easily twisted... but that's a really simple message we can all get behind.
Agriculture is the only industry that is both a source and a sink. So why can't everyone focus on the serious challenges like our clothing, technology, cars, holidays. Food waste?
