[Adelanto] El director ejecutivo de la Compañía de Turismo, Carlos Mercado Santiago, concedió el pasado 20 de agosto un decreto contributivo que le provee a la corporación Cabo Rojo Land del amigo del @GovPierluisi, Roberto Cacho Perez, $497.6M para el desarrollo turístico y residencial propuesto en sobre dos cuerdas de terrenos en la Bahía de Boquerón.

El decreto tiene el efecto de enmendar el que pidió Cacho Perez en el 2020 y le fue concedido el 12 de diciembre, por la ex jefa de esa agencia, Carla Campos, para desarrollar el área con otro concepto de cuatro fases. Aquél era de $193M y este se aumenta a $497.6M y añade dos fases del proyecto.

El pasado mes de mayo dos inversionistas, Reuben Brothers y la firma Three Rules Capital, anunciaron el proyecto que tiene un plano conceptual de la firma de arquitectos, Alvarez, Díaz y Villalón. Estos son los mismos que trajo Cacho Pérez cuando el proyecto se llamaba Cabo Rojo Boquerón Bay.

Los socios de la firma, Ricardo Álvarez Díaz y Cristina Villalón fueron “host” del evento de recaudación de fondos celebrado en Washington en septiembre para @JGO_2024.

Llama la atención que en mayo, el inversionista de The Rules, Roberto Ruiz Vargas alegó que “el proyecto no se va a detener porque no tenga incentivos gubernamentales, porque ahora está previsto que los primeros años de desarrollo se van a hacer entre capital privado y deuda que se coloque en los mercados”. Sin embargo, tres meses más tarde ya el proyecto tiene incentivos de unos $497 millones desde su etapa inicial.
