To be fair, there ARE people who specifically want to foster teens, because they are really hard to place. Not too many people are equipped to handle teens, and the baggage that they bear, living in a situation that necessitated foster care. If this person was so easily deterred by covid stuff, they weren't made of firm enough stuff to care for upset teenagers.

I refuse to tolerate any of the classic cluster B behaviors in any context and I do not care what you have been diagnosed with, by who, or for how long. I will spend exactly zero of my finite time alive coping with that. Do not behave that way near me. I will immediately bring it up and name it. Being manipulative is unacceptable. I will just agree. Everyone sucks? Yep. Everyone fails you? Yep. Cool. Good. You are saying these things as a bid for reassurance. You are saying these things to make people pick a side in a situation that does not involve us. You are belittling someone to reinforce your own comfort. You are causing chaos to self soothe. If you toss me the social grenade I will pull the pin.

@thruforestswild I keep up on rabies, and treat tag-along critters at home. A lot of things can be accomplished by a trip to Tractor Supply, on clinic days.

@miles_commodore I didn't have a whole family, but an elderly fellow stopped by to teach us about the history of our house. It was really neat. We talked for a good bit of time.

All of the burn bans are outrageous. No one is going to have a little backyard fire that will have any impact on *waves hands at suffocating smoke* ... all of this. It's almost like they are making up things to do, so it looks like they are doing **something**, even though they are helpless to clear the air. Look busy, guys! 🙄

At least I can put more layers on, in the cold. I can only take so much off before the humidity is determined to kill me, and now I have to try and breathe through the moisture in the air... and the smoke from Canada! Ack. Bring on some sweater weather! If I'm going to choke on smoke, I should at least be able to sit around a fire with some smores and hot cider.

That's extremely generous. I guess I'm just an old-school kind of gal. I think that someone who rapes and murders an old woman should have a trial before the elders at the gate, have his guilt confirmed, and then be stoned to death by the community. He can plead mercy from the Most High, and maybe he won't experience the second death. They can work that out when they have their face-to-face.
