God gives to us so we can give to others. To help those who don’t have, to stand with the poor, to defend those without opportunity, and to make life a little easier for someone else.
We are only stewards of what God has placed in our hands.
I never really felt this way before, but nowadays this burden has been laid on my heart more and more.
I think about how much of life starts with good fortune from God. You don’t choose where you are born, the family you come from, or the opportunities placed around you.
That is why helping those who don’t have should matter so much.

That extra effort goes a long way.
Because at the end of the day, if you don’t win, you have to be honest with yourself: did you really do everything you could?
Heard something at work today that really stuck with me.
Your competitors are not sleeping. They’re working hard too. So sometimes the difference is that extra mile — the extra two hours studying, preparing, learning, or sharpening your edge.

Christ first made the move by dying for those who did him wrong.

He was then able to instruct and empower generations of Christians to love those who do not love them.
“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”
Luke 6:27 ESV
Was at the WH Correspondents dinner last night, a rare DC trip for me without a subpoena. On the positive side—was exciting, no one was killed, and ended early. I noted a new litmus for status among the gov’t elite—whether you were whisked away by secret service, or left to fend.
