After intensive work and the building of a meaningful lobbying effort with the Government of Israel and Members of Knesset, and following a personal appeal I made to Israel’s representative at the UN, today Danny Danon raised the ongoing massacre of the Kurdish people before the United Nations.

At a clear moment of moral truth, the only country acting consistently, courageously, and with a clear voice on behalf of the Kurdish people is the State of Israel.

This is a struggle for justice, human rights, and loyalty to values, and Israel is standing on the right side of history.

Whether people acknowledge it or not, Kurds are getting killed and oppressed as a consequence of occupation and the denial of self-determination. If we had our own independent state, we would have the opportunity to establish and agree upon fundamental democratic principles, equality, justice, and the rule of law.

We can already see examples of what Kurdish self-administration can achieve. In Bashur (South Kurdistan), the Kurdistan Region has experienced relative stability, economic growth, and institutional development compared to many surrounding areas. Likewise, in Rojava, before extremist jihadist groups and Turkey destroyed it, local self-governance structures promoted community participation, women’s representation, and grassroots democratic initiatives. These examples show the democratic stability and progress when Kurds are to govern themselves.

The video is intended to highlight that global powers must recognize a clear historical reality: for over a century, efforts to suppress and occupy the Kurdish people have failed. It underscores the urgent need to acknowledge this and to move toward a just and lasting solution, as the current situation cannot continue.
