At DigiBete, our hearts are with the family of Lyla, who tragically passed away. Many in our community are deeply connected to type 1 diabetes, whether as parents, caregivers, or those living with type 1 themselves.

In honour of Lyla, we want to help raise awareness of the early signs of type 1 diabetes, known as the 4Ts:
Tired, Toilet, Thirsty, Thinner.
By knowing and sharing these signs, we hope to prevent other families from experiencing such heart breaking loss.

Our community continues to hold Lyla’s family close in our hearts after her passing from DKA. In her memory, we not only want to raise awareness of the 4Ts which are Tired, Toilet, Thirsty, Thinner, but also take action together.

One way we can help prevent future tragedies is by supporting a petition that Lyla’s family has created. It calls for Funding so all infants are offered Type 1 Diabetes Testing in routine care. Early testing can save lives by reducing the risk of misdiagnosis or late diagnosis.

✨Please consider adding your name and sharing the petition with others to fund routine testing. Together, we can honour Lyla and work towards a future where no family has to face such loss.

#Type1diabetes is an auto-immune condition in which the body’s own immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas which produce insulin. We do not know what causes type 1 diabetes although it is not linked to lifestyle factors.
