I was interviewing a young lady this morning who graduated with a Second Class Lower degree. She insisted that she was smart.
I then asked her, “If you are smart, why did you graduate with a Second Class Lower?”
She suddenly broke down in tears.
I asked her why she was crying, and she explained that she lost her mother in her first year at university and her father in her second year.
The emotional trauma affected her concentration, and she struggled to complete her education while dealing with the pain of losing both parents.
I will give her a chance to prove herself.
But this experience has left me with a troubling question:
Does our education system make adequate provisions for young people who go through such devastating experiences?
How many brilliant young people have we written off because their grades failed to reflect their true abilities, without ever asking what they went through?
Under Tinubu's regime, Nigeria's passport plunged from 90th position to 181st position.
We can only access 24 destinations visa-free.
I don't know ooo.
But when some of you decide to tell yourselves the truth, that is when you'd begin to recognize failure and shame.
End.
A Family in Uniform: Uganda's First Family Writes a Three-Generation Military History
The family of President Yoweri Museveni is making a unique piece of Ugandan and African history. Three generations of soldiers, serving at the same time.
1. The Patriarch: Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
The 80-year-old liberation war hero who took power in 1986 after a five-year guerrilla war. A General who traded the bush for State House, but never took off the uniform completely. He remains the Commander-in-Chief and the longest-serving leader in Uganda's history.
2. The Son: Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces and the most powerful soldier in the country. From commanding the elite Special Forces Command to leading the entire UPDF, Muhoozi has followed and at times mirrored his father's military path. To his supporters, he is the modernizer of the army.
3. The Grandson: 2nd Lt. Ruhamya Kainerugaba
The newest chapter. The President's grandson and Muhoozi's son has officially joined the Uganda People's Defence Forces as a Second Lieutenant. The photo of the young officer in uniform has already set social media ablaze in Kampala.
For the first time in Uganda's 62 years of independence, a sitting President, his son who heads the army, and his grandson are all commissioned officers at the same time.
Analysts say it is more than just a family affair. It is a powerful statement about loyalty and how the Museveni family sees its role in Uganda's security not just as politicians, but as soldiers.
The present state of the rehabilitated Niger Bridge is what is referred to as a conundrum, literally and in practice.
I'm beginning to suspect that a "bottleneck" has been deliberately created to impede, if not totally shutdown movement into and out of the Southeast during the coming holidays and electoral season.
Go figure. God, please let me be wrong!
Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is gradually coming out.
INEC finally confessed that its staff deliberately caused the so-called technical glitch.
Mahmoud Yakubu will still serve his jail time later in his lifetime.
Make person dey use him 20s fetch water inside drum cause light no dey, but him mates for other countries no even sabi wetin lack of power supply mean
God actually abeg.
APC folks are very funny. People who were literally against anything good under Jonathan now want to teach us how to be responsible in opposition.
Get out of my face.
President Trump is 80 years old and will not be president again, after his tenure.
President Tinubu claims to be that he's 74 years old, and wants to be president for the second time.
The US midterm elections is in few weeks time.
In the last few weeks, President Trump has been criss-crossing the US campaigning for his party members.
But President Tinubu, who is seeking reelection, has not visited any state to campaign and ask the people he wants to lead for their votes.
If Trump were so sure that his party would win, he would just be chilling in the White House, minding his own business.
But he knows that he cannot manipulate the elections or the system, or use state apparatus to rig elections.
I rest my case.
End.
HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER AND FELLOW PARTNER IN SERVICE TO NIGERIA, RABIU MUSA KWANKWASO
As you mark your 70th birthday on October 21, I honour not only an accomplished public servant but also a very dear elder brother and partner whose life has been dedicated to serving our people.
With the passage of time, I have come to deeply appreciate the bond between us, the many conversations we have shared, and the common commitment to Nigeria that continues to shape our service. Your path through the legislature, the Federal Executive Council, the governorship of Kano State, and national public life represents decades of experience, duty, and meaningful engagement with the Nigerian people.
Turning seventy is not merely a significant milestone; it is a moment to look back with gratitude on a life devoted to service, the wisdom gained through experience, and the opportunities that remain ahead.
As we continue to hope for and work toward a better Nigeria, I remain grateful for our partnership and for our shared conviction that our nation can become a place where no child is deprived of opportunity, no family is left in poverty, and every Nigerian can live with dignity, security, and hope.
My dear brother, may God bless you with renewed strength, good health, wisdom, and many more productive years. May the years ahead be filled with peace, fulfilment, and the satisfaction of seeing the values we cherish take firmer root across our nation.
Warmest congratulations on your 70th birthday, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM . I honour you on this special occasion and pray that the chapter ahead will be filled with abundant blessings and many more purposeful years. -PO
I knew Ebola was going to magically appear in Nigeria. It was only a matter of time. There’s no way the Tinubu govt was going to miss the opportunity to use health concerns as a pretext for state surveillance and control of citizens 3 months to election.
The Minister of health and NCDC director would cash out as well.
If INEC doesn't conduct a free and fair election, there'll be no country to rule.
I hope Nigerians will stand on business in January. Too many people have died already.
I paid a warm visit to Their Excellencies, Senator Jim Nwobodo, our foremost leader in Nkanu land, and his wife, Chief Patricia Nwobodo and received their blessings and prayers. My consultations continued in Nara Unateze, where I met with the Umunna, the Umuada, and the NDC executives of Nara Ward 1 and Ward 2. Enugu East will be OK! #AdadiOk #AdaObi2027 A New Nigeria is POssible!
This delivery man delivered something to me, and I paid him while he was waiting for the alert and packaging his other packages. He heard someone over the phone telling me Happy birthday. He asked me, " Boss, is today your birthday and I said yes and he asked me for cake I told him there’s no cake but I have food and I invited him inside to eat.
As we were eating he was telling me how difficult life is as a dispatch rider. After the conversation, he stylishly asked me what phone I was using and I told him and he said “You be boss oh”
The man left and came back this evening to hand me a brand new screen guard and a new phone cover for my phone and said it is the only gift he can give me as a birthday gift.
He doesn’t even know what he did for me today with that gift. I think I cried a little after he left.
I won’t forget that guy in this lifetime💯
Peter Obi and Kwankwaso must mobilise Nigerians NOW! The madness of this APC-appointed INEC chairman, openly defying the law by refusing to publish the voters’ register, must not go unchallenged. Enough of this electoral impunity!
