Since March a good friend and I have been challenging each other to avoid phone doom scrolling and instead use spare time to return to books. I’ve decided to focus on some modern classics and have so far devoured Toni Morrison’s Beloved, Song of Solomon, and Sula, as well as F Scott FitzGerald’s The Great Gatsby and Tender is the Night. All extraordinary books. Recommendations for others very welcome. I’m thinking Grapes of Wrath next?
