Albany Democrats introduced a constitutional amendment to begin the process of redrawing New York State’s congressional maps. The amendment would give Albany Democrats more power in the process and weaken the Independent Redistricting Commission. This is nothing more than a power grab by Albany Democrats in an attempt to redraw seats that would heavily favor Democrats over Republicans irrespective of the voters’ will.
Time and time again, Albany Democrats have attempted this type of power move and it has been consistently rejected by the voters. The voters should choose their elected officials. The elected officials should not be choosing their voters.
As we voted on the final bills that make up the state budget, I once again reminded my colleagues that they cannot blame President Trump for everything.
NYS is in the business of keeping your children undereducated, keeping people homeless, and keeping people unaccountable for their crimes. If you want change, you are going to have to change the way you vote.
This morning, Commissioner Anderson took City Council Minority Leader David Carr and Assembly Member Sam Pirozzolo on a tour of the BEAUTIFUL Staten Island Compost Facility. @CMDMCarr@SamForNYC
This site creates jobs on Staten Island and so far this season alone, we've given away over 4.8 MILLION pounds of FREE compost, made right here.
Sign up for one of our compost givebacks to be part of the next million pounds we give away: https://t.co/mihHAYlSre
This morning, I toured the @NYCSanitation composting site in Travis with Commissioner Anderson and @SamForNYC to learn more about the agency’s plans to build a new enclosed facility to manage more of the borough’s yard waste and to mitigate any impact it would have on the community
This morning, New Yorkers were told there was supposedly a “general agreement” on a bloated $268 billion budget. Within hours, it was made clear that there was no real agreement at all. What we got was Albany dysfunction on full display.
My statement:
Once again Albany has rejected my Resolution to introduce Loyalty Day in the Assembly Chamber. Loyalty Day is a day created by our government to pledge loyalty to the United States of America against socialism and communism. I was told my resolution was a tad bit too touchy to be introduced. This is the 4th year in a row that I have been denied. So for anyone who asks why we can't seem to work together...the answer is because NYS government is ALREADY controlled by socialists!

The state budget was due on April 1st and that deadline has come and gone with no state budget. As a result of Albany’s dysfunction, #NYC’s budget will be delayed. It is inexcusable and there is no accountability in Albany.
I am relieved that the President, First Lady, and all attendees of the White House Correspondents Dinner are safe after last evening night’s horrific shooting.
I called for a Staten Island meeting with DSNY regarding the response to the blizzard and expect that to be held at 11:30am. I hope to have updates & more information to share once it concludes. (2/2)
I have heard from A LOT of Staten Islanders & understand there are still many streets that need to be plowed. There are residents that literally cannot get out of their homes and off their blocks. (1/2)

@NewYorkGOP@NassauExec She will not cave before election day. You can count on an indefinite pause till after election day. Just like congestion pricing!
Albany Dems rushed to fix their own error that threatened some pot shops but ignored a flaw that allows a dispensary within 500 feet of a nursery school.
Instead of protecting kids, they moved fast to protect dispensaries.
Here’s my exchange with the bill sponsor:
We are proud of New York’s Bravest and the more than $9 million in federal funding Nicole secured for improvements to Brooklyn & Staten Island firehouses as well as a new EMS training facility in our district.
