@Archerko9501@LucavonHresvelg@PatrickSta9389 W: “I only had one proper chance to talk to him. Oh, I'm aware it's a silly dream, but don't laugh at him. …I thought that you two were dating for sure.”
R: “O-of course not! Give me a break! The way you cut to the point is precisely the reason why you have so many enemies!”
@InvernessDrive@HAWKGIRLS I feel the issue is exacerbated because Rin keeps appearing in spin-offs that tease her feelings for Shirou (like Prisma Illya, Adventures, or Apocrypha material) or that don't mention if she is in a relationship currently, so the perception is that Rin remains single outside UBW
@HAWKGIRLS Yes. See, here is the thing, the fact that she is a free agent whose relationship with Shirou doesn't define her makes their love for each other more attractive to me. I feel like I can't genuinely look at Shirou x Sakura without thinking that I just support it to save Sakura.
@27Ranza@fordemdolphins I don't like how quickly Rin is given the grace to be with someone else, but that hope isn't extended to Sakura. Even though Sakura has another ignored suitor who has a crush on her who actually appears in the VN.
@fordemdolphins@27Ranza The new Tohsaka heiress says:
"Oh, you smiled. I like your smile. You're really beautiful, not like my greedy grandma."
So yes, seems like Rin had grandchildren, but she may have adopted instead of marrying. Or maybe she just married and had children out of duty.
@SoCalGalPal__@RitsukaPostGame When does she talk about someone she loved? Can you attach a screenshot? I'm trying to compile these mentions/info with sources.
@HAWKGIRLS What I don't like is those who dismiss Rin's feelings for Shirou because she will eventually settle down with someone else, while Sakura and Saber can only find love and happiness with Shirou and no one else. Poor ignored Minori...
@NahimanaRaoul@GekyumeJoseph@fordemdolphins Actually, Rin entering into a different relationship is something the fanbase has assumed happens in HF Normal End based on the appearance of the new Tohsaka heiress, but it isn't said explicity she is in a relationship with anyone.
@fate_prototypeB This scene, her inner thoughts in HF True End, the UBW True End... I can't help but wish Happily Ever After for Shirou and Rin. They are so much for each other: Student and teacher, best friends, partners, and lovey couple. Let's hope that their future is bright!
@NobuDzBr Que yo sepa no se menciona a Shirou por nombre y eso que el perfil del personaje de Rin Tohsaka menciona eventos que solo ocurren en UBW (ella convirtiéndose en la Master de Saber y "ganando" la Guerra)
@Dwide15@22_Vanitas Both Rin and Sakura choose to bury their feelings if he loves another. Rin buries her feelings in the HF's route to support Sakura, even when she is still crushing on him during and two years after the fact. Sakura does the same and is prepared to do so until he notices her in HF
"Honkai: Star Rail" Rin Tohsaka on her past:
This happened many years ago.
I was looking at my father. In my memory, he never once told a joke, but there he was, stroking my head.
Though, instead of "stroking," it would be more accurate to say he grabbed my head and gave it a rough rub.
After all, that was the first time he had ever patted me.
If I had known it would be the last time I saw him, I would have used one of my best jokes to make him laugh. I practiced them in secret, over and over, just hoping that one day his stern expression might soften.
The family gems, the management of the basement... seeing him hand everything over without reservation, even as a kid, I could tell...
...that my father was never coming back.
He was a participant in the Fourth Holy Grail War. Despite having no natural talent, and even though my grandfather gave him the choice to walk away from magecraft, he still resolutely stepped onto that path.
And that will, that conviction to blaze a trail for his own life, is the most precious legacy he left to the Tohsaka family.
It's just a shame that my sister (Sakura Matou) and I let him down from the moment we were born.
Our talent dictated that we were born without the luxury of choice.
However, for the sake of my father's final wish, and the honor of the Tohsaka name...
...and my ideals, too, I still wanted to become a mage worthy of the title "genius." It's what everyone claims I am, despite how I feel about my self.
And so, I watched him walk toward the end meant for a mage.
At the time, I didn't realize that the final destination of the person I loved would be my own starting point.
I inherited everything he left behind. At his funeral, I was placed under the guardianship of a church priest.
Even now, I still think he's a total fraud of a saint... but I have to admit, without him, my childhood would have been much harder.
He fulfilled his duties as a guardian faithfully. He taught me how to protect myself. Even though selling off family assets made life stressful, he at least ensured I never went hungry, and that was enough.
Living as the honor student everyone admired while defending the secrets of magecraft, unable to form deep bonds with classmates or anyone normal — this may sound oppressive or bitter to others, but to me, it was never a big deal.
Sacrifice brings rewards, and I was fine with that. Still, I'd sometimes wonder what life would've been like if I'd never stepped onto this path. I was lost in those thoughts during that final dusk before the war, when the phone rang.
My time pretending to be a normal person was finally coming to an end.
@HAWKGIRLS What I'm saying is that the quote you used says nothing else that Rin's character allows her to save people from their inner problems and that if you want to use a quote from Nasu to prove than Rin/Archer is a thing in UBW, you should use another one.
@9_coming@fromavalon45656@Idealsovererthi@MossuNoAH@HAWKGIRLS Remember this: we only see the beginning of each relationship. Only in Saber's case do we see the “end.” No one knows how they'll end up, but I choose to believe that they'll eventually find their ending. (14/14)
