@klobrille@MikeyJayRaymond That’s all completely valid brother.
And I get the nuance & general understanding us into gaming should have about the situation, I just want clarity across the board.
No bad blood, insults, or attacks intended. Appreciate your coverage/passion/best intentions for the brand.
@MikeyJayRaymond@klobrille Listen, I get it.
And I wasn’t ever attacking Klo - as I said I respect him & his passion/coverage.
I just sincerely don’t want Xbox fans getting *potentially* the wrong impression. And it’s my bad for “everyone” - it was probs character limit issue, but should have rectified.
@MikeyJayRaymond@klobrille Ad hominem attacks?
Hahaha, ok brother. When I’m inferring that Windows Central is a respectable outlet and you shouldn’t need to call me a “bad writer” to communicate a point, that’s suddenly ad hominem. Sure.
@MikeyJayRaymond@klobrille Glad you’re standing on this hill! As if I expected anything less.
So speaking of nuance, what is your interpretation of “large audiences” when that’s used throughout the industry?
What could the possible implications/applications be of ambiguous verbiage like that?
@MikeyJayRaymond@klobrille *I* do understand nuance.
But as a mouthpiece for the Xbox community I think it behoves Klobrille to share quotes in full. Last thing we need is Xbox fans jumping guns.
I’d expect someone who contributes to Windows Central to have the restraint from stooping to veiled insults.
@MikeyJayRaymond@klobrille My point being that for someone who seemingly objectively covers Xbox news, the omission that provides very important contextualisation to the quote he did share seems conspicuous. Whether the quote on its own is true or not is irrelevant to my critique.
@Eric92369938659@klobrille Spoiler alert: I don’t think Xbox fans want Xbox and Microsoft focusing more and more on appealing to cloud and mobile players. You won’t like the outcome.
@JBoss293@klobrille Spoiler alert: going back to exclusives for Xbox just means Xbox cannibalisation of sales is maximised, each game makes less money, and no one en masse buys Xbox hardware at current prices.
Only people that lose are Xbox fans who watch the studios they love suffer.
@K1aaeL@klobrille Just do me a favour and remind me which one has 4x the installbase of the other and then get back to me on whether that in any small way might dictate differences in strategy and approach.
Also let me know which one owns two mega publishers. Thanks.
@PaulTassi The lack of commitment drives me up the wall.
Can’t have cake and eat it too.
Just a revolving door of indecision and impulsive/reflexive action.
Fantastic.
Word salad, admitting there will be no consistency in strategy, no commitment to anything in particular, and fans will take the bait once again.
This is going to go *very* well.

'It's tough topic ... I think we have to be very thoughtful about each title and how we want to think about it, and learn from similar cases in the industry'
