This is absolutely outrageous from former Labour political advisor John McTernan:
“We can do to the farmers what Thatcher did to the miners. It’s an industry we could do without. We don’t need small farmers.”
@GeorgiaRae444 @JoeWStanley If you added in all of the sheep and beef cows, which are not farmed intensively on factory farms your % would be significantly lower. Just completely ignoring those sectors of the farm industry as a whole isn’t a basis for ALL uk farms being factory farmed
@GeorgiaRae444 @JoeWStanley I’m glad you have numbers to back it up and I accept that chickens are mostly farmed in big batches. But the 85% of ALL farms in the uk is not a true statement. This doesn’t include any sheep or beef cattle numbers which, when missing, skew the numbers
The Labour Party wants to destroy livestock farming. Especially in Wales.
In this piece, a Labour MP talks of 'the new economy'. But what is this new economy for rural Wales?
Is it wind turbines, saturation tourism, retirees, trees, hippies?
With no room for the Welsh?
