Ai cannot replace the human experience of trust. Do you have my best interests at heart? Will you stand by me when things go wrong? Can I be vulnerable with you?
Will you act ethically when there is no rule telling you what to do? Can I depend on your character under pressure?
Grateful to have had the privilege as a leadership consultant and an executive coach to have a ringside seat to the power of leadership for close to 16 years. I can attest that self-awareness remains the leadership mantra. https://t.co/Ov8G5Ms5Q6
Speed of Change. We live in Reinvention 2.0 with continuous reinventions versus having one reinvention in V1.0. Akin to us having to take a shower on a regular basis to ‘wash off’ habits, practices, mindset, products, services, business models if not they begin to stink too🙂
Had the distinct pleasure to be part of a three month ‘Strategic Leaders Programme’ for GM’s. They were from four core businesses of a diversified company. Kicked off a two day module for operational leaders to become strategic leaders driving change by leading self.
We had a good time participating in the Wellbeing at Work Summit Asia 2023 @ KPMG at their beautiful KPMG Clubhouse in Singapore’s CBD https://t.co/j3msCVkcNu
Mind is responsible for everything we experience on a moment by moment basis. Why do two people have completely different reactions to the same set of circumstances? The difference is entirely in the mind.
Being Resilient in 2022 is knowing mind embraces our world of thoughts, attention, attitude and decision. It cannot be separated from emotion, which in turn cannot be separated from body. As Antonio Damasio reminds us: “no body, no feeling, no feeling, never mind.”
In a post Covid-19 world, leaders need to assess the level and detail of information being shared to rebuild trust. Poor transparency erodes trust. Trust gives people the information to take risk, creating a climate for innovation.
Building Trust Is a Process, Not an Activity - everyday is about maintaining trust.
Remember trust is build and broken all the time; it’s not because we are bad, it’s because we are human and life happens!
France accuses Australia and US of ‘lying, breach of trust’ in escalating crisis ‘There has been lying, duplicity, a major breach of trust and contempt. This will not do,’ said Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian Saturday. Trust is built and broken by our behaviors.
“It was like I was driving on a rainy day without the wipers on for the longest time, and suddenly, I found the wiper switch.” Being aware you control what you see gives you clarity.
Navigating in the Moment
requires greater control over your mind, body, and emotions. Imagine how life would be if it weren’t at the mercy of a racing mind and unpredictable emotions. You would certainly be more at peace, and much happier.
What we anchor ourselves to during the storms of life determines the outcome. An anchor can be made of various things. But what every anchor has is an element of trust.
What gives that calm beneath the storm? As Friedrich Nietzsche said, “he who has a why can endure any how.” We need to find this clarity that goes beyond the day-to-day craziness.
Trust is the new core of leadership post covid era. Current issues show the growing importance of the need to build trust of character, communication and capability!
