I agree with Governor Landry’s decision not to allow HB-423 to become law. It is fundamentally unfair to prevent injury victims from collecting the full amount of accident related damages simply because ‘ they paid’ for health insurance to cover their medical bills.
Louisiana has taken a historic step in adopting a congressional map that creates two African-American Districts based on population. This is a fair map passed with bipartisan support. I commend the legislature for taking this bold step forward.
