Coaches: Think like a farmer 🚜🧑🏼🌾
• Provide the best possible conditions for growth
• Don't blame the crops for not growing fast enough
• Yelling at the crops doesn't help anyone
• Remove the weeds
• Don't uproot crops before they've had a chance to grow
If every player on a team commits to helping their teammates get better, each player will have a whole team of people committed to helping them improve.
Imagine how much better you'd get if you had an entire team of people who had your back and wanted to help you succeed.
If a player is told to fix a mistake and they continue to make that mistake, it doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t coachable.
Sometimes, the problem lies in the person providing the feedback, rather than the one receiving it.
Failure and mistakes are not final destinations. They're part of the journey.
Learn from your failure, learn from your mistakes, get better, and try again.
Anyone can provide support and encouragement when things are going well.
Strong, effective leaders can provide that same support and encouragement when things become more challenging and frustrating.
