Haaland can start against Villa, Maresca says

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Frankly, Cherki was taking the piss.

On nights like these it's normally a routine win and move on, but there was a lot of flair and entertainment, largely from Cherki but of course Foden and Allan, too.

Foden hat-trick!

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

4-1 Foden, another lovely goal with another fine assist by Lewis

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Cherki 3-1 lovely goal (of course)

Maresca says Haaland is better, Semenyo out for eight weeks. On Haaland: “He can be available, we will see. He was quite good yesterday, better. We will see today.

“The rest are more or less all ok, the only one that will be out for probably eight weeks is Antoine.”

@davidtspider sometimes it's okay to joke

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

The ref added on four minutes and the Premier League pumped in an extra eight

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

@BlueStubbs It’s either old age or low IQ, sometimes both

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Boos, chants, a ‘Shameless’ banner and a load of bananas, during the Premier League anthem (feels like more of a jingle?)

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

@BlueStubbs Why is it always big font Twitter that gives me shit?

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

A bit more from Maresca on injuries: "Mateo said he was OK, Matheus said he was OK, Erling also said he was OK. Nico has the problem with his back from before Coventry... the only one we have to wait a little bit to see is Antoine."

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Maresca on Haaland: "We will see. Unfortunately in 10 minuytes we had 4-5 players, Matheus, Kova, Nico, Erling, Antoine... they are inside now but I don't know, I don't have any news at the moment."

Haaland with a heavy limp as he goes off at full-time. He got a bang on the foot and was likely to be rested on Tuesday, so City will be hoping he’ll be back for Villa next Saturday. Semenyo limping too as he goes off

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Haaland is really struggling after that shot was blocked, looks like a bang on the foot. One minute of the TWELVE to go and CIty have a free kick after excellent work from Bouaddi. Has been a mad period of injury time

[Sam Lee @SamLee]

Ndiaye has been really good today but also very wasteful at some key moments
