I am really upset about the Scottie thing man people dead did not watch the Raptors this year and they overvalue shot-chucking and insane on ball usage stats.
Scottie was MARKEDLY better than Jalen Johnson this year while being 1 of the 3 best defenders in the NBA this season.
Scottie Barnes getting screwed in both All-Defense and All-NBA voting has me legitimately thinking people just did not watch enough Raptors games this year. How in the world did he only get nine out of 100 votes? Wild.
I like Derrick White just as much as the next guy, but there is absolutely no way he should have been All-Defensive 1st Team over Scottie Barnes. That was a reputational selection.
My goodness a guy that played 80 out of 82 games, had 100 steals and 100 blocks, anchored a top 5 defense got absolutely shafted off a first team defensive team. Did I mention they were also a top 5 seed when most didn’t have them making the playoffs? Did I mention that he lead the league in clutch time blocks aswell. Lmaooo fuck these voters talking about some Derrick White. Worst thing is you got Heat fans talking about some Bam Adebayo and NY fans talking about OG Anunoby who are both phenomenal defenders, but if we’re talking this season strictly this is criminal. I don’t even know what more an individual has to do to get first team all defense. Streets won’t forget this defensive season from you @ScottBarnes561
We live in a world where Scottie Barnes can finish top-five in DPOY voting and not make All-Defensive First Team. There are so many easy fixes in our league that need to be addressed. We are playing with legacies here. It’s unacceptable.
Scottie Barnes has made NBA All-D for the 1st time in his career, but despite finishing 5th in Defensive Player of the Year voting, he was snubbed from the All-Defensive 1st Team and selected to the 2nd Team. Derrick White, who finished 6th in DPOY voting, bumped him on 1st Team
Scottie Barnes this season:
— 114 steals (9th)
— 116 blocks (6th)
— First 100s/100b season of the 2020s
— Most stocks in the East
Didn't make 1st Team All-Defense.
The Raptors set a franchise record with 2,417 assists this season (3rd in NBA)
Darko Rajaković’s foundation donates $33 per assist for children’s hospitals in Memphis, Toronto and Serbia.
Total: $79,761
Over the past 3 seasons: $196,661
The Coach.
