Look closely, there is an elephant on that steep hill. Many people imagine elephants as animals of the plains. But the truth is far more fascinating. Asian elephants are remarkably sure-footed and can negotiate surprisingly steep hills and rocky slopes.
This photograph captures an elephant making its way across a steep hillside in the Nilgiris. And now, researchers have documented wild elephants in Arunachal Pradesh at an astonishing 3,266 metres above sea level, the highest elevation ever recorded for Asian elephants. This remarkable discovery reveals the extraordinary adaptability of these gentle giants and challenges one of the most enduring assumptions about them.
What a fascinating fact to learn on the eve of #WorldElephantDay2026, celebrated on 12 August!

Now I'm mindful.
Can I stop the rain?
People are caught in the floods and so am I.
Can I stop the heat?
People flee the scorching sun and so do I.
I'm troubled, wanting to prevent the disaster,
Yet I'm aware that I must hold myself firmly to the ground,
Breathe, and remain calm!
Then
I wasn’t bothered
In the incessant rain, I had a black umbrella,
Or a banana leaf over my head.
In the scorching heat, I used the same,
Or the books I carried.
I played in the water in the water through which I waded,
Or walked through the shades
Oh that was sixty years ago!
Now
Now I'm bothered.
The umbrella can't withstand incessant rain,
Nor can the leaf fight the pounding rain.
The heat pierces through it,
Or surrounds me from every side.
I have to look for a strong shelter,
Or stay inside to avoid sunburn.
Oh this is happening now!

Is S R responsible?
Let every genuine report of abuse
Heard with dignity&respect it deserves.
Let the police verify the facts,
Let the media report a verified account.
When a report turns out to be a fabricated story.
Anguish of the falsely accused
Can't be measured&undone.
Genuine voices go unheard
Many *** , and there is no doubt that in this country, where bribery is so rife, and where in so many spheres of life it is hard to get any services rendered without paying for them, the refusing of a present of money impresses the donor tremendously. 1940

Vacuum
A long life lived.
Having gazed upon countless open brains,
Wondered, where am I?
Physically searched
Silent pathways of neurons, and the delicate dance of synapses
Vacuum within.?
Presence whispered
Not emptiness, but a space inviting awareness,
Explore Beyond!
A psychiatrist at John Hopkins studied people who claimed to speak with God.
what he found in their brain scans left even seasoned scientists in quite disbelief:
> His name was Dr. Andrew Newberg.
A scientist. Not religious.
He had one question what happens inside the brain during prayer?
He expected nothing unusual.
Just neurons firing. Thoughts forming.
Nothing more.
He was wrong.
During deep prayer, the brain did something unexpected.
The part responsible for self-awareness went quiet.
Like a switch turned off.
> And when that happens the boundary between you and everything else disappears.
You no longer feel separate.
Not from people.
Not from the world.
Not from something greater.
He called it “absolute unitary being.”
Not just a feeling a measurable state in the brain.
But that wasn’t the most shocking part.
The brains of people who prayed regularly
looked physically different.
Stronger connections.
Lower stress.
Healthier patterns.
Even the brain’s fear center the amygdala became less active.
Ancient traditions always knew this.
Here’s the simple truth:
When you pray, your brain stops treating you as alone.
It starts treating you as connected.
Supported. Part of something vast.
He spent 30 years trying to prove it was all in the mind.
Instead, he found it was changing the mind all along.
Maybe it was never empty after all.
Rain has not yet arrived
Missing the fragrance of the wet earth
Longing for the silence between the drops
Feeling the drought within
Am I aware of the disconnected parts?
Am I grounded myself ?
Drought in my awareness.
As I become fully present
Longing becomes a gentle shower
