@yourMHA Ultimately, this needs to be the beginning of a debate in the remaining weeks of this campaign about how all parties plan to create a sustainable, lasting settlement for the social care sector.
There are some very welcome announcements in the @LibDems manifesto and it is especially welcome to see a major political party taking the challenges around social care seriously.
There is a recruitment crisis in the sector and care professionals deserve far greater recognition and respect, so it is very fantastic to see @yourmha's proposal for a Social Care Council including. Something we have campaigned for with our #FixCareForAll campaign.

Manifesto Day#1! @libdems kicking off! There’s a lot to welcome in the Lib Dem’s manifesto around social care but some over-optimism on costs, some slightly confusing snippets and one big disappointment. First the good:

So far in this election campaign #socialcare is a dog that isn't barking. Will that change? Here's a thought for @cmm_magazine on a lost decade

Every aspect of care system for older and disabled people is under huge strain: funding falls far short of covering the real cost of care, there's a recruitment crisis, and a huge waiting list for people accessing the support they need. This Election must be a turning point.
That's why I have written to the three main party leaders and asked them to commit to meaningful, sustainable change for the social care sector. Big decisions cannot be kicked down the road any longer - it's time for politicians to #ShowUsYouCare
NEW today: #ShowUsYouCare Campaign.
For social care, it’s time for actions, not just words.

We've all seen that the #GeneralElection is coming in July. At MHA we're determined to put #SocialCare to the forefront of the debate during this election campaign.
It's time for all parties to be clear about how they'll fix the crisis we're facing in social care #ShowUsYouCare
Another headline about how the NHS is failing because of #socialcare. This one doesn’t even reflect the story: a review has apparently found half of NHS productivity issues are its own fault while #socialcare is only one factor causing the other half. https://t.co/FvlSWEIMzw
Pleased to see that @Keir_Starmer wants to ease the NHS crisis. Focusing on #SocialCare & supporting social care providers to deliver good quality care would mean people leading the life the want to lead, staying healthy, independent & out of hospital.
