Having a pretty-looking meal makes it so much easier to eat healthy! I always try to use veggies to decorate my plate and think this is a great way to incorporate healthy foods into your meals. The better decorated = the more I want to eat it! @beh353#beh353
@BrieRoulier@beh353 Hi Brie!
I also am following the PA path and have learned so much from this course that can be brought into that profession. Being cautious about bringing up patient weight is something I too want to focus on because many HCP lack that ability! @beh353#beh353
I plan to use everything learned from this class in my current profession as a CNA and in my future as a PA. I want to mostly focus on helping patients make the right nutritional choices and battle weight-bias in the field of medicine! @beh353#beh353
I love this tweet!!! I know so many people, including myself, that dread going to the Dr. office due to the way they address weight. Compassion and respect, especially in regards to weight, goes a LONG way! @beh353#beh353
Dear Dr.,
Recommending “healthy weight loss” is weight stigma. As discussed, weight stigma or internalized poor attitudes about weight, increases risk of chronic illnesses (HTN, diabetes, & EDs to name a few). Please engage in compassionate & respectful care. Please do better.
@ChiuNutrition@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 Dietitians do SO much in hospitals, and as a hospital worker, I completely agree that they are essential for patient health! I find myself asking the dietitians at my job so many questions, even if it's just asking what a patient can and can't have to eat! @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you so much for teaching us about food addiction! I feel like this is something that is very misunderstood, but also something that many people struggle with. As a healthcare professional, I want to dive deeper into this concept! @beh353#beh353
Nuts provide tons of nutrients & essentials and can be beneficial for many populations of people! This is a great read for children and adults with diabetes, especially during #NationalDiabetesMonth ! @beh353#beh353
Nuts provide magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin E, fiber, protein, nourishing fats and more!
Learn why nuts are an excellent choice for children and adults with either Type 1 or Type 2 #diabetes: https://t.co/4S1e9wrFYG

@KyraScott22@beh353 Pregnant individuals are very vulnerable and it is super important for that population to stay healthy! Growing another being also takes a huge toll on your body, so nutrients are essential! This article was super informative and a great share!! @beh353#beh353
This is a great article about healthy eating for older adults! Older adults are a very delicate population and this discusses overcoming barriers for healthy eating and how age can affect your appetite! @beh353#beh353

It's great to learn that the death rates from weight-loss surgery are decreasing! Weight-loss surgery is very common among overweight people and it is nice to learn that people going through this type of surgery can be more confident of their choice! @beh353#beh353
Today, death rates after weight-loss surgery are considered to be “very low,” occurring in perhaps 1 in 300 to 1 in 500 patients on average. https://t.co/YmW00iVakj
@KyraScott22@beh353 So many people fat shame without ever knowing the real reasons behind someone's weight. I wish more people would consider genetics and family medical history over just someones diet! @beh353#beh353
It stuck with me that doctors usually associate all symptoms to weight, such as a broken ankle or sinus infection. As a PA, I will not focus solely on patient weight when diagnosing and treating them. Being overweight DOESNT always mean you are unhealthy! @beh353#beh353
One of my favorite dishes is lentil soup! I'm happy to learn that they not only add fiber, but also protein. Definitely a guilt-free way to add nutrients into your diet, and they taste great! @beh353#beh353
@OliviaClaf@beh353 I didn't realize how much sleep can effect your weight and I personally need to get more sleep and a better sleep schedule. I notice that when I sleep less, I feel more fatigued and lethargic which could definitely lead to weight gain over time. Great post! @beh353#beh353
Obesity prevalence among kids is almost x2 when their HOH didn't complete high school. Parents education level and knowledge on health clearly effects their kids, and we need to educate parents on nutrition in & out of school to maintain health in children. @beh353#beh353
As someone who struggles with eating a nice, hearty breakfast, I am definitely going to try this recipe! no added sugar and lots of fiber and protein sounds like a great start to the day! @beh353#beh353
@EverGlowwz @beh353 I relate to this greatly! It can be so hard to find time to prepare healthy foods, especially as a student! I personally am going to try to prioritize healthy meal prep along with studying! @beh353#beh353
I relate most to the barrier of lack of time to plan, prepare, & cook healthy foods. As a student and CNA, I spend most time studying and working which doesn't leave much time to make healthy meals. I try to meal prep when possible, but it is very rare😕 @beh353#beh353
