Know Uganda 🇺🇬
Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most remote and arguably most spectacular national park, located in the northeastern corner of the country bordering South Sudan and Kenya. Covering about 1,442 square kilometers, the park is renowned for its vast savannah landscapes, rugged mountains, abundant wildlife, and authentic wilderness experience.
The park was gazetted in 1962 and is home to more than 77 mammal species and approximately 475 bird species, making it one of Uganda’s richest biodiversity hotspots.
A few months back , rhinos were reintroduced to Kidepo for the first time in over 40 years after poaching had wiped them out in the early 1980s. This marks a major milestone in Uganda’s conservation efforts.

The 2024 youth demonstrations in Kenya began as largely peaceful protests, with many young people exercising their constitutional right to express their concerns and demand accountability.
However, the situation changed when individuals widely alleged to be hired goons infiltrated the demonstrations. Their actions reportedly led to the destruction of businesses, the robbery of innocent citizens, and attacks on peaceful protesters, shifting attention away from the original message of the movement.
More recently, concerns have been raised following incidents at All Saints Cathedral, where goons allegedly disrupted activists who had gathered to analyse and discuss the national budget. Such events raise serious questions about the protection of civic spaces and the right of citizens to engage in peaceful dialogue.
Kenya can not afford to become a nation where violence and intimidation silence lawful civic participation. Regardless of our political affiliations, we must embrace unity, respect one another's rights, and protect the democratic values that allow every Kenyan to be heard peacefully.
