While leaving Warped Tour last night (like 7ish), I saw a guy in a Knicks jersey explain that he normally would stay the whole time but he HAD to catch the game.
I hope he had the best night.
as cool as i think indie animation is i wish there were more actual WRITERS who worked with indie artists because as cool as indie shows are you can tell many of them arent writers and are more artists
I truly don’t understand why you guys think us stating a fact is us bragging. Most of country isn’t walkable - a lot of us are unhappy about it but it’s not an easy thing to change.
really funny seeing americans basically bragging that you can’t walk to stadiums in the us for the world cup as if that’s a good thing. why are you proud of your country being so inaccessible?
@mirrenelle Weddings should definitely be nice for the guests - like they deserve good food and such, that’s just being a good host but they do not get to demand or control any aspect of your wedding.
@onetreeduck@charlicaravello@bellabee13 That’s still using an outside vendor. Like you’re acting as if you can just order the kids take out (still expensive) when you’re paying a caterer $80/head which I believe is still relatively cheap for a caterer
@onetreeduck@rileyoh1@bellabee13 So…uh…a lot of people don’t want teenagers or people with little to no experience planning and coordinating their wedding without any oversight.
Don’t get me wrong I still don’t like how they made a female Avatar and centered her part of her story around a love triangle. Korra was only going to be one season originally and the only B-plot they had was a love triangle
Korra WAS a result of Nickelodeon not giving a damn about the show, the creators, and the production crew because of inconsistent last-minute episode orders, mid-series budget cuts, and the sudden shift from television to streaming during Books 3 + 4.
@pete_piccolo@muheediva01 I once yelled at my dad for drinking and driving. He was drinking a Diet Coke. Nobody mentioned alcohol during those drinking and driving sessions
I’m going to be honest. For a long time, I didn’t know parsec was unit of measurement in real life so I thought people were getting upset about a made-up term that got the meaning change in an piece of extended universe media
“It’s the ship that did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs” was a throwaway line and didn’t need decades of analysis followed by a spinoff film explaining it.
Disney privately: Cut the gay scene! We might lose precious pennies from Russia & China!
Disney publicly: 🤡 Honk honk we put rainbow bumper sticker on Lightning McQueen today CONSUME OUR PRODUCTS TEENS
I think this debate is coming up as a response to Euphoria’s ending. I haven’t watched the series but it seems like the issue is less that it’s a sad ending and more like “this ending was dark and not narratively fulfilling” and people can’t tell the difference
Like they think “Oh [SPOILER] died” so this ending sucks but the real reason is the death wasn’t written in a narratively fulfilling way and seems to be mostly for shock value.
The character could have been killed in a way that made more narrative sense but that wasn’t done
@faeatthemezz Oooh. They did something similar in the Spirited Away English dub. The Japanese ending implies Chihiro doesn’t remember what happened while the American ending pretty explicitly has her her acknowledge her change
@azeher_may@sorrygojo@fendimogul Like I prefer bittersweet or ambiguous endings because to me - a happily ever after where the MC marries their love interest and has 2.5 kids usually (not always) comes across as childish and uncreative. That’s the ending fairy tales for kids get - I’m not a child
@azeher_may@sorrygojo@fendimogul How does it waste your time as a reader? Truly I’m interested as somebody who tends to think a lot of happy endings are cop outs.
