@shahartley I think this is largely a side effect of having DB, who can play several positions. On the other hand, Nakase is playing Janelle for only 3 minutes. That's the player who won 6th Person of the Year. 🙄
It really depends on each player’s own goals. But if I were the GM, and wanted to keep Kelsey I would offer her a 3 year contract. Year 1, low at around 800K until we get rid of the Mo and Lexie contracts. Otherwise, the math will not work and I will have to let her go. But from Kelsey’s perspective, she would very likely receive 2-3 offers at max salary. So I feel like we have a 50% chance of keeping her.
@StavrosForever@rachelle_morris I think it will depend on contract duration and year 1 pay. If she’s willing to take a hit in year 1, to allow some wiggle room in the budget then no GM will let go of her.
@bagelled Players are a mixed bag. A lot would fall under what you described, but there are many who really would not give a 💩 about it. Also, the gems were mostly Euro players (for exception of Sydney Taylor), which the Fever didn’t even scout. The problem is more of a GM failure.
I don’t think all players don’t want to play in Indy. In fact, many would jump at the chance if they are offered the right contract. Amber diverted her budget towards AB, KM and LH and this meant that Fever offers were very low compared with other teams. Remember that players like Alana S and Temi F were getting above a million dollars offers, while the Fever budget space was just around 600K. At the end of the day, money talks. Amber mismanaged the money. Hence no one came.
@ejrsuperstar@MagicM06 They’re not letting her go until they secure her replacement, as this is a GM/President decision. Her fate will be similar to Lynne Roberts, delayed but inevitable.
