In the fight against poor salary,The government should be the first employer to make sure casual workers esp youths are paid well. Even youths working on affordable housing projects (mjengo) shouldn't be earning the same KSh 1k per day often paid in the private sector. The government should set a higher standard by paying at least 2k per day and championing decent wages across all workplaces
Avoid buying Affordable Housing. One day, people will regret it. Look at what is happening in Greatwall Apartments, right now, there is no water.and some people are claiming the houses were built on industrial land. One day utaskia kuna court order requiring the buildings to be demolished, saa hiyo people have spent more than Ksh 4 Million to purchase a house unit.
The same thing will happen to Affordable Housing projects once Ruto is out of power.
I honestly don’t think we’re ready for this Eastleigh conversation.
Few Observations,.
You buy something in the majority of those shops and they want cash. If you don’t have cash, they have their own MPesa agents they tell you to withdraw from. They then make a quick call to the agent to confirm the withdrawal before releasing your goods.
That way, they never have to explain their cash flow, but you may one day have to explain yours to the taxman.
We’re talking about a multi billion shilling industry with very little transparency, accountability or visibility into how money moves.
And as long as they remain the middlemen, pay zero tax, sell “counterfeit goods” the government is comfortable
But how dare you use the same business model, open your own wholesale operation and bring your own goods through the port?…..
There was a time my neighbors wife went into the nduthi business, she bought 3 new ones and gave to 3 capable riders . On paper she was supposed to get 500 shillings everyday from each of them . A church going born again Christian came to me cursing and using such profanity I couldn't believe it . " Chairman hizi ni umbwa taka taka " she said . She lost 150k in 5 months .
This term, I'm experiencing a lot of burnout. Do you guys have those seasons that you just don't want to work, but you must show up because you're needed? Hii term naenda kazi juu nafaa kwenda. I'm not planning to be employed at 40. I plan to employ people so I can work whenever I want.
What we call 'good luck' is almost always just someone else’s generosity, trust, or insight. You don't need a miracle to change your life; you just need to be in the room when the right bridge is built.
Did you know that Mercedes have produced a car that is impossible to open the bonnet. The only way to open it is to take it to a Mercedes dealership where they have the software to open the bonnet. BMW have made special bolts that can only be opened by BMW .
Someone told me that one day life will be all about subscription.
