This IDF spokesman had the nerve to blame a man in Gaza who lost all his family by Israel’s SECOND air strike on Jabaliya refugee camp, saying he should have heeded the warning to flee.
Flee where? To the south where Israel also bombs nonstop?
Flee how? In a car with no fuel?
Zionist forces brutally assault Orthodox Jews in the streets of Jerusalem for opposing genocide in Gaza. Haven’t seen this kind of state violence against Jews since Nazi Germany. Images like this destroy the myth that the State of Israel is Jewish.
Notice how politicians and the establishment media can change war horses at the drop of a hat.
A few months back we were fighting a war for Europe's survival against a power-mad Putin. We could not take our eye off the Russian threat for a moment – or Poland and the Baltic states would fall next.
Has Putin stopped being a threat ? Or is his being a threat not narratively helpful while we need to focus on Israel's right to bomb children in Gaza to stop the more pressing threat of Hamas?
I was on that bridge today, and while I can only speak for my own experience, I saw: 1) Many Jews proudly marching, and centering their religion 2) The crowd of Muslims and Christians around them responding with love and appreciation every time they did so
You might be hearing analysts compare the Israel assault on Gaza to the US-led coalition assault on Mosul to clear ISIS in 2016-2017 or Falluja in 2004. I’ve been in both those battles for extended periods of time & I’ve covered their aftermath.
Jews, Americans and Israelis are now LESS safe because of Israel’s brutal crack down and massacre of innocent civilians. You can say whatever you want, you can attempt to make all sorts of justifications, but the world is watching with their own eyes and they are becoming increasingly disgusted and hatred is brewing. That hatred will turn into attacks. As we Americans face another round of jihadists attacks many making excuses for Israel today will point and say “See! We told you! They’re animals and now attacking us!” But no WE told YOU. You are radicalizing a new generation to wage guerrilla jihadists warfare. This is NOT in the best interest of America.
In the West Bank, the two things that stood out to me the most were 1. How Christian Palestinians were treated by Israel and 2. How American Palestinians (who were also often also Christian) were treated by Israel. Both groups were treated just fine by the majority Muslim population and stood together in solidarity against the brutal occupation. Israel treated both groups like hostile criminals limiting their movement, withholding their imports, limiting their water and more. This isn’t about Islam or ISIS. This is about land. This is what imperial nation building looks like. Bloody. Inhumane. Rather than read about it in history books we’re watching it online.
An English message for an Arabic-speaking population whose communications you’ve already cut off is how you know this is propaganda for Western audiences.

- There is an unprecedented shift in global opinion in favour of #Palestine
- #Israel is not sure what the strategic aims of a ground offensive should be
- Netanyahu is sole obstacle to de-escalation as he fears Israelis will force him to resign.

I realise that Twitter spats don’t help anyone. I have found it hard to disengage - I have Jewish and Muslim family members & friends, whom I deeply love. I have lived in a Muslim country for ten years and have been to Gaza & The West Bank and I also have a historic family connection to Israel. I have personally had (and continue to receive) countless death threats on account of my Jewishness & faced decades of antisemitic abuse. The father of my children was shot, according to his would- be -assassin, because of his “proximity to the Jews” – ie. me. Meanwhile my children have faced Islamophobia in the UK (& antisemitism in Pakistan!).
Perhaps because of these experiences, I passionately believe that political tribalism is the enemy, not just of reasonable discourse but of peace. It’s why I’m so in awe of the bravery & integrity of those Israelis who despite having lost relatives in the last few days, have made some of the most powerful statements against the ongoing bombing of Gaza. I pray their voices are heard. Killing and maiming thousands more innocent children will not save terrorised hostages, nor will it bring peace and, like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan post 9-11, will likely only create more terrorism and a less safe world for all of us.
