@UlleyRanger What species are you trying? I have tried a few things over the years but seem to struggle with slugs/snails nibbling. Ox eye daisies have been a winner.
What do a Pearl-bordered Fritillary butterfly, a Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn beetle and a Hazel Dormouse have in common? They all thrive in managed woodlands. Find out why & what other species benefit by reading Tammy’s latest blog: https://t.co/Zq7zDlqgc3

So I thought I’d put it to the test on a newish housing site close to me.
A 🧵
This is devastating. Butterfly numbers have crashed in Uk and @RootsAllotments have taken 25 acres of precious meadow habitat… and celebrate with a party. They could go do much good in the right area but we can’t keep taking from a Nature who can’t defend herself. Very sad.
This video reveals what appears to be sewage flowing into water on Southend seafront. The footage was captured on Sunday.
The area of darker coloured water was spotted by a man in an aircraft who labelled it “disgraceful”. Mark Hutley said: “I’ve never seen anything like it. It could be seen for miles.”
It was spotted between Chalkwell beach and Westcliff beach.
The apparent sewage spill is close to one of Anglian Water’s ‘storm overflow’ pipes that leads into the water from the land.
Latest records indicate that it was active on Sunday 8 September and emptying into the area of the Thames Estuary for a period of time.
Anglian Water have a permit from the Environment Agency to operate the storm overflow pipe, which specifies conditions for controlled sewage and stormwater spills during heavy rainfall.
This is in order to prevent flooding in homes and businesses when the sewer network becomes overloaded with rainwater.
Blocked Swift Colony. I'm being ignored by the residents, the scaffold company and the police.
I reported this crime yesterday and they've done nothing about it (ref 20-0432), when I called back this morning THE POLICE HUNG UP ON ME!
please help.
