Everyone needs to realise the gravity of what is happening here and apply pressure from all angles. Yesterday, #Morocco’s Interior Ministry confirmed what independent analyses had already indicated: the entry of at least 50,000 people into #Ceuta was not spontaneous. It was orchestrated through an online mobilisation and disinformation campaign, largely driven from outside Morocco, with the aim of destabilising #Spain, undermining European migration policy and, ultimately, weakening Europe itself.

Europe’s far right seized on the crisis. Manfred Weber and the #EPP fell into the trap, blaming Madrid’s regularisation policy while a hybrid operation was unfolding in real time. At least 72 people lost their lives on that stretch of coastline.

This was an attack on Europe, designed to divide us, turn Member States against one another and weaken the Union. European Democrats will not hand those behind it that victory. Ceuta is a European border, and Europe must defend it together 🇪🇺
