2 years ago my wife and I sold everything to pursue our dream of living on a sailboat. Today marks two weeks since moving onto our new floating home!

Here's how we got here:

But actually Im barely 10 pages into this book so don’t take my reading.

I was just thrilled working with Tana gave me a frame to grok what living by conceptual metaphors might mean

Me reading the first chapter of Metaphors We Live By for the first time:

“Why yes, I have used supertags in @tana_inc before”

Sure it’s wildly self centered to just assume you can host a forum for adventurous people without contributing to other peoples conversations…

But if the contribution part comes with baggage that burns you out… then what?

Twitter (X) draws me into doomscrolling, comparison, and bandwagoning on other people’s ideals.

I am about to set sail for 6 months and want to write and maybe even chat a bit with adventure-minded people.

Right now my solution is to hold a separate review for reflecting 5yr/10yr/lifegoals — that way I prevent those big big picture sessions from bogging down the annual review

@heymartineellis @reddy2go One thing I wondered was how/whether you think about longer time frames (5/10 years) in your annual review.

Perhaps that's it's own session 💭

Prevents yahoos like me from turning their review into some kind of Rube Goldberg Machine for making them feel better about their choices 😂
