Splitting proteins into two segments that reconstitute protein function by proximity is a great #synbio tool for recognition of proteins, cells and even regulation of therapy. BUT it requires two proteins, so twice the work and cost. Could it be done with just a single protein?🧵

@AdrianoAguzzi I found this happens even with seemingly “hard” data such as 1H-NMR of small molecules -> you can go “oh this is an impurity, and that should be a multiplet but just appears broad…” Research requires a lot of honesty with yourself.

While driving, I got scared because the pod started beeping during a lane change - the sound is surprisingly similar to the blind spot detector. Nothing happened but could’ve been serious. Turns out that it was because 2/3 h later I needed to change the pod. Unnecessary.
