I'VE CANCELLED MY AFRIFORUM SUBSCRIPTION... BUT I'LL STILL SUPPORT SOME OF THEIR WORK WHERE I CAN.

I've been a fan of Afriforum for many years now.

An organized NPO with a focus on serving Afrikaners & other minority groups in SA, branching from the Solidariteit Labour Union.

In the almost 20yrs of their existence, they have rattled the cages of an incompetent govt, co-founded a skills-based tertiary institution (Soltech), amassed over 300,000 monthly paying members at an average of R150 each... & been recognized by the United Nations.

They have won court cases, fought to defend Afrikaners, assisted abandoned black royal families to gain recognition, assisted the Zulu Kingdom with iNgonyama Trust, & pushed for self-doen community work across their branches.

In 2018, I launched - with some friends - the Buy Black Movement, hoping to emulate the success of Afriforum. I also infused inspiration from the Broederbond, the Jewish Kosher sign & the Muslim Halaal sign. The goal was to conscientize black ppl to buy from businesses that are certified BLACK - & not this BEE nonsense we have.

I would later leave the Buy Black Movement after realizing that not all Black ppl are united, nor have noble desires to push for a powerful black economy. Simultaneously, I had an epiphany & reminisced on my upbringing, & realized that I can help the poor better if I decide to be non-racialist.

It was in 2022 that I would finally find the guts to join Afriforum, & even publicize it - to the virtual attacks of so many black ppl.

What inspired my decision was: The legal support of the Meyiwa family - with the murder of Senzo Meyiwa; the patrolling of our non-existent borders; service delivery in neighbourhoods, & other amazing work that Afriforum does. Their website has all this.

I've had the privilege of sitting on a few podcast episodes with leaders Ernst van Zyl & Ernst Roets. Amazing gentlemen, patriots & servants of their mandate. I even got to visit their headquarters, which was quite inspiring.

But... the clashes with The EFF's Dubul' iBhunu - which highlighted a still-very-racially-polarized SA, & noticing Afriforum's minimal voices regarding racist incidents from White Ppl reminded me that Afriforum serves Afrikaners & minority groups... NOT non-racialists, nor does it put all SAns first over culture. In my opinion, it is Afrikaners 1st & then other SAns. Which is well in line with what I believe their mandate holds.

I'm still planning to donate to the movement or specific work they do, on an adhoc basis, but I've had to leave as a subscriber... so as to not obstruct, nor distract from the work they do... & so as to not catch feelings when they do not make noise about other aspects of SA society that I feel need the support.

I will, however - & as I've done in the past & even recently - criticize them like I do anyone else. Whether it's regarding the Apartheid flag or White (Farmer) Genocide.

To the Black ppl who always attack me for supporting Afriforum: all the money you pay to Afrikaner businesses finds it's way to Afriforum.

2ndly, Afriforum is a Culture-based organization & not a Race-based one. Ie. It's more accurate to build a Zuluforum than a Blackforum.

Lastly, if you envy the amazing work Afriforum does, plz set up your own NPOs, fundraise & help build a better country for YOUR people. Ask your labour unions why they aren't able to do what Afriforum & Solidariteit do.

The guys at Afriforum are always happy to guide other NPOs that want to serve SAns & hold our corrupt & incompetent govt to account.

As for me... I'll carry on supporting good work, regardless of who is doing it. And I'll keep trying to lend my voice to community service, information, education & trying to see how we can build a Springbok economy & society.

@GodPenuel Just say you have learned and observed the positive things, that Afriforum are doing for their people. And if you can, start your own forum for black people, if it's going to be beneciary to it's members. I will personally join urs. I'm so happy you left this racists my brother

Today, exactly 40 years ago, I was sentenced to a 15 year sentence of political imprisonment, for so-called 'High Treason', for my participation in the liberation struggle against apartheid, and my then membership of the @MYANC, and having participated in the armed struggle of Umkhonto we Sizwe (#MK).

My commitment to the same ideals, also for full economic liberation, as articulated in my support for #RadicalEconomicTransformation (#RET), for which I joined the liberation struggle and was imprisoned, remain unchanged and unwavering.
