My Rabb was so clear in the Qur’an when He said we should not insult what others worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah in return out of ignorance.
That verse is so profound that its message is difficult to miss: respect, wisdom, and restraint.
I came across the story of a man in Ilorin who was told by an Alfa that if he named his newborn son “Allah,” the child would die within eight days. Instead of responding with fear, he went ahead and gave the child that name & the child lived.
Whether one agrees with his decision or not, the lesson for me is different: Islam teaches us to call people with wisdom, not threats, with knowledge, not intimidation.
The Prophet s.a.w changed hearts through patience, kindness, & beautiful character not by attacking people or speaking down to them.
Sometimes, the strongest proof of faith is calmness. Sometimes, the best da’wah is respect.
May Allah grant us wisdom in speech, sincerity in advice, and mercy in our dealings with others.
Watching Ilorin after the passing of its Grand Imam has made me fall in love with the city even more. The Emir announced a new Imam, and there was no controversy, no division, no campaigns, no noise. Whether he was someone's son, grandson, student, or relative became secondary to the trust placed in the process.
The people simply accepted and united.
For a moment, it felt like reading the stories of the Sahabah again, when hearts were attached to principles more than personalities, and the success of the Ummah mattered more than individual ambitions.
In a world where positions often create conflict, Ilorin continues to showcase a quiet beauty of Islam: respect for knowledge, trust in leadership, and submission to what benefits the Ummah.
Show me a sweeter example of Islam in practice; that city continues to teach that the beauty of Islam is not only found in our books and sermons, but in how we conduct ourselves when tested.
May Allah preserve the people of Ilorin and make us all people of unity. 🤲🏾
My very first dream for this kids was never about wealth, status, or worldly success,it was for them to become Huffaz of the Qur’an. ❤️
There is no desire that has ever come before this, and no investment I have made greater than paving their path toward memorizing and living by the Book of Allah.
Every sacrifice, every effort, every prayer has been for this journey. Because the Qur’an does not only shape a child’s future, it illuminates generations.
May Allah make them among the people of the Qur’an, whose hearts are attached to His words and whose lives reflect His guidance. BaarakAllahu feehim. 🤲📖
Sometimes my kids call me "Mummy"; most of the time, they call me by my first name. It reminds me that beneath motherhood, I'm still the girl I used to be.
Earlier today, two colleagues jokingly asked me to choose between them, one a Muslim brother from India, the other a non-Muslim from my homeland.
As a Muslim, my faith teaches me that the bond of Islam is greater than the bond of nationality. A believer from the other side of the world is closer to me in faith than a non-Muslim who shares my homeland.
Yet Islam also teaches justice and kindness to everyone. The Prophet s.a.w was a mercy to all people, and his character won hearts long before his words did.
We can honor the brotherhood of Islam without neglecting the rights, dignity, and good treatment of others.
“The believers are but brothers.” (Qur'an 49:10)
Every time I'm in my khimar, hijab, at least one person asks where I got it from.
So I thought, "Why not stock some and sell them?"
Well... I stocked 15.
Now I have 4 left and haven't made a single penny. 😭
Somehow every sale turned into a gift. Maybe I love gifting. Maybe I'm too shy to mention prices. Maybe I'm not bothered. Maybe I need du'as.
At this point, even I'm confused. 😂
Do a small deed for me or my family, and you're in my diary for life.
It doesn't matter if the world pushes you away,I never forget kindness, even when it's as small as a drop of water.
I forgot to mention we had a wonderful Eid celebration with my sister @queen_barri, showed up in grand style with my brother from Ede. May Allah honor you in this world and the next... where is our 📸?
May Allah bless and abundantly reward Sheikh Okasha Kameny.
I just memorized another juz today using his riwāyah, Alhamdulillah. If I continue at this pace, I might complete the 60 juz before the year runs out bi’ithnillah.
The Qur’an truly changes everything.
I can’t speak much about the North, but where I come from in the Southwest, it is still rare to see someone grow wealthy, successful, and influential while already grounded deeply in the Deen without needing people around to constantly guide or correct them.
That is why it stands out when you see young Muslims carrying both steeze & Solat, influence, discipline, wealth & Islamic consciousness together.
Because real success is not just making money it is having the fear of Allah before the money comes, & still keeping it after the money arrives.
And honestly, many of them still fear Allah. Sometimes they simply do not know better, & they have no one close enough to guide them sincerely. The people around them are often already loyal to the status, the wealth & the benefits that come with it.
On this Day of Arafah, Ya Allah, soften the heaviness inside me. Quiet the pain I carry in silence and replace it with a peace that reaches every part of my heart. Let the wounds that kept me awake become reasons I grow closer to You. And when my soul feels tired, remind me gently that Your love is greater than everything that hurt me.
I misplaced my bank card sometime last week, and before I even noticed, whoever found it had already made different purchases with it. I deactivated the card but got too busy to call or walk into the bank.
Today being Sunday, I finally had the chance to call, and every single penny was returned to my account upon hanging up.
It looks like a miracle.
