महिला आरक्षण संसद के बाहर महिलाओं के लंबे संघर्ष से निकला है। इस आरक्षण को ढाल बना कर उनके संघर्ष को दाग़दार बनाया जा रहा था। आज वो कोशिश नाकाम हो गई। वैसे भी महिला आरक्षण बिल नहीं गिरा है। वह तो 2023 में ही पास हो चुका था। मोदी सरकार को बड़ा मौक़ा मिला है। सरकार को चाहिए कि 543 में ही महिला आरक्षण लागू कर दे और 2029 का चुनाव 543 सीटों का हो। मुश्किल है कि सरकार यह भी नहीं कर सकती क्योंकि ऐसा करने पर वह फिर से विपक्षी दलों की माँग का समर्थन कर रही होगी।

The arrest of Vinesh Chandel, co-founder of I-PAC, barely 10 days before the Bengal elections, is not just alarming- It shakes the very idea of a level playing field.

At a time when WB should be moving toward free and fair elections, this kind of action sends a chilling message: If you work with the opposition, you could be next. That’s not democracy- that’s intimidation!

What makes it even harder to ignore is the double standard. Those facing serious corruption allegations seem to find protection the moment they switch sides, while others are swiftly targeted at politically convenient moments. People are not blind to this anymore.

When institutions meant to protect democracy start feeling like tools of pressure, trust begins to erode. On one side, the Election Commission. On the other, agencies like the ED, NIA, CBI stepping in at the most sensitive time. It creates an atmosphere of fear, not fairness.

India has always taken pride in its democracy- loud, messy but free. But today, many are beginning to ask: are we still that country?

This is bigger than one arrest. It is about whether our institutions remain independent and whether every citizen, no matter their political belief, can participate without fear.

Because once fear replaces freedom, democracy becomes just a word.

To Amit Shah and the BJP’s power structure- Be in Bengal on the 4th and 5th of May. Come with Gyanesh Kumar and every agency you deploy. Bengal will not be bullied, will not be silenced and will not bow. This is a land that answers pressure with resistance and it will show you exactly what that means!

At Kharagpur, I addressed internal review meetings for Medinipur and Ghatal with the leaders and devoted party workers who are the backbone of Trinamool Congress.

I said to them plainly that the end is in sight, but that is precisely when complacency becomes the greatest danger. We have fought for the people. We have been on the ground, in every lane, every village, every home. That momentum must not slow. Not in these final days. Not when everything is at stake.

Because let us be absolutely clear about what this election is. This is a battle for Bengal's identity, for the dignity, rights, future, and very existence of its people. This is a fight against communal forces that are conspiring, with cold deliberation, to sow disharmony in a land that has always stood for peace and coexistence.

We must remain united. We must carry the message of peace and prosperity to every single home. We must dismantle their designs with the one weapon they cannot counter. The organised, resolute, and unified will of the people. Trinamool Congress is the only political force that has stood firm against BJP's assault, time and again. We have resisted before. Eid reminds us of the enduring principles of patience, love, and togetherness that define our shared humanity. Bengal has always upheld this ethos, where communities come together to celebrate each other’s traditions, reinforcing a culture of mutual respect and harmony.

At a time when divisive forces seek to pit one against another, we must remain united. India belongs equally to all its people, and its strength lies in its diversity. I am confident that the people of Bengal will continue to reject hatred and stand in defence of our collective spirit. May peace, good health, and prosperity be with all.

👉 63 lakh names have already been deleted.
👉 60 lakh more voters have been put under adjudication.
👉 200 precious lives have been sacrificed in their reckless bloodbath.

And yet, when even this massive electoral fraud failed to improve their sinking chances, BJP has now gone for the final, desperate strike. In a last-ditch attempt to rig the polls, they are getting administrative officials and key police personnel removed or transferred by the dozens, without consulting the State Government even once, and without citing a single reason.

But let the Delhi Zamindars hear this loud and clear. You can delete names. You can transfer officers. You can import hundreds of observers. You cannot delete the will of the people of Bengal.
