Dr. Samba Bah Celebrates Academic Achievement with Successful PhD Defense!
Dr. Samba Bah has reached a significant milestone in his academic journey. He successfully defended his PhD dissertation, "Cost-Sharing in Public Higher Education: A Phenomenological Study of Graduates of the University of The Gambia."
This achievement represents not only a personal triumph but also contributes valuable insights into the dynamics of higher education funding.
Dr. Bah expressed deep gratitude towards his dissertation committee—Chair Lijing Yang, Laura Harrison, Yegan Pillay, and Assan Sarr—for their invaluable guidance and support. Their insights and challenges played a crucial role in refining his work and pushing him to think critically.
Acknowledging the strong support system that stood by him, Dr. Bah thanked his wife, family, and friends for their unwavering belief in him. He extended a special mention to his sister, Awa Bah, whose role as both a role model and financial supporter was pivotal in his educational journey, right from middle school to his first year at Ohio University.
This achievement underscores Dr. Bah’s dedication and the collective support of those around him, marking the successful conclusion of one chapter and the promising beginning of the next.
Congratulations Dr. Bah

Congratulations Hon. Jatta on the award. He used the occasion to talk about one of his biggest concern on Africa’s Independence and Development.
Hon. Sidia Jatta's message about preserving our linguistic heritage through language education is both inspirational and humbling.
African Renaissance can not be fully realized until we build our cultures and languages as the basis of our development and enlightenment.
This is what the Chinese have used as a basis, not just for identity and the Confuscius thinking, but also for industrialisation & economics.
We have the privilege of welcoming Hon. Sidia Jatta to Athens, Ohio.
Sidia of Wulli, Gambia, and Africa. A great son of our land. A Consummate scholar and an epitome of a Statesman.
Hon. Jatta will on Saturday be awarded the Ohio University ASU #AfricanHeroAward.
@SambaBah Well deserved award. Hon. Sidia Jatta has served his community and country with distinction. A great inspiration for many of us. Principled and consistent. It was always a joy listening to his erudite and enlightening interventions at the floor of the National Assembly 🙏🏿
