Her name is Malavika Hegde.
In July 2019, her husband VG Siddhartha walked onto a bridge near Mangalore and told his driver he would be back shortly.
He never came back.
Siddhartha had built Cafe Coffee Day into India’s largest coffee chain. 1700 cafes. 25000 employees. He had also buried the company under Rs 7214 crore of debt.
The board panicked. Analysts wrote CCD off.
Nobody had accounted for Malavika.
She was an engineer. A mother of two. She had never run a company in her life. Her father SM Krishna was a former Chief Minister of Karnataka. She could have lived in that shadow comfortably.
She chose the debt instead.
In December 2020, she took over as CEO. In the middle of a pandemic. Her first act was a personal letter to all 25000 employees. She wrote the CCD story is worth preserving. I will fight for this brand.
Then she got to work.
She called every lender personally and renegotiated terms. She sold Global Village Tech Park to Blackstone. She closed every loss making outlet. She exported premium Arabica beans from her own 20000 acre farm to international markets to generate fresh revenue.
She never raised the price of a single cup of coffee.
By 2021, the debt was down to Rs 1731 crore. By 2023, it was Rs 465 crore.
A 93 percent reduction in four years.
Today, CCD runs 423 cafes and 55733 vending machines across India. Netflix is developing a web series on her life. Business schools are teaching her turnaround as a case study.
She had no playbook. She had no mentor. She had grief and 25000 people depending on her.
That was enough.
Follow for real stories India never makes headlines about.

These men are the reason my love for this nation never decreases, even after corruption, people replacing our culture, and dharma
Men becoming guilt tripped softies, westernizing everything, women going against everything that's good for a modest society and more
Hate Dhurandhar as much as you want, but its good to see the stories of our unsung heroes finally, we need more
Jai Hind.
Odisha is no stranger to India’s tourism circuit.
From the timeless Konark & Jagannath Temples, to the sands of Puri Beach and the vastness of Chilika Lake.
But it seems that if you venture deeper into the state you discover landscapes that are every bit as spectacular.
Duduma Falls in Koraput district where the Machkund River plunges dramatically off a rocky cliff is one such marvel.
It’s a reminder that India’s beauty is inexhaustible. Just when you think you’ve seen it all… another wonder appears.

In a major step toward safer roads in Bhubaneswar, the National Highways Authority of India will build a 500-metre skywalk from Palasuni to Rasulgarh at a cost of ₹20 crore.
This is WIPRO.
It is one of India's largest IT services companies.
Its market capitalization is ₹2.2 lakh crore
They also shamelessly presented Chinese Unitree Go2 robot as their innovation at AI summit in Delhi.😭😭
🚨 Khan Sir, the popular educator from Patna, has launched a low-cost hospital offering essential medical services at remarkably affordable rates: blood tests for ₹7, ECG for ₹25, X-rays for ₹35, ultrasounds around ₹100, and dialysis starting from ₹350.
ISRO Budget 2014 : $1.1 Billion
SC/ST Budget 2014: $11.65 Billion
ISRO Budget 2026 : $1.4 Billion
SC/ST Budget 2026 : $35.9 Billion
In the last 12 years, the SC/ST budget has grown far more than ISRO budget.
Nothing matters more than vote bank politics & appeasement.
No Metro in Odisha.
No High-Speed Rail approved for Odisha.
What did Odisha get?
👉 Freight corridor passing through the state to move the minerals out.
A state that contributes massively to the national exchequer deserves better.

One more #HusbandSuicide from Greater Noida. 38 year old Software engineer Shatrughan Sinha, a native of Patna jumped from the balcony of his 16th floor flat in Paramount Emotions Society of Greater Noida and ended his life because of continuous fights with his wife Gulshan Rathore and Sister in Law who too was staying in the same flat.
No suicide note was found but his wife claimed that he was Jobless since last few months and she was the one who was running the house. On that day he was drunk and tried to assault her and when her sister tried to save her then the husband attacked her sister with a knife. Wife claimed that she called the Police and after that the husband got scared and jumped from the balcony.
Does not this sound like a Manohar Kahani? When there is no suicide note then why not this be treated as a case of Husband Murder instead of Suicide. It may be possible that his wife along with her sister threw him from the Balcony. When a husband can take care of his wife and family for whole life then why can not a working wife can support a husband even for few months in the case of his job loss?
If a wife will commit suicide in similar circumstances then the husband as well as his entire family will be arrested immediately but here the wife is projected as a victim by the media. @noidapolice needs to investigate this case with all possible angles.
In India, we have approximately:
5000 IAS officers
25000 Judges
4000 MLAs
788 MPs
All of them live in huge bungalows, have 10 servants and travel in expensive cars with full convoys.
They are also getting good salaries.
Why the hell are taxpayers funding such luxuries?
