Seoul, South Korea — Paper Rex has made the difficult decision to move Aaron "Mindfreak" Leonhart from the active roster to reserve status. However, Mindfreak has expressed his desire to continue competing at the highest levels and Paper Rex has allowed him to explore offers and opportunities as a restricted free-agent. Mindfreak has been with the team since the inaugural VCT seasons and has greatly contributed to the team's successes past and present.

“Aaron is a fierce competitor and an incredibly cerebral player with a wealth of experience in his roles. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have him on our reserve roster, ready to step in should emergencies arise in Stage 2. Throughout the course of our journey, Aaron has been nothing short of professional and a strong team player throughout his tenure with us. Most recently, working closely with his teammates in his coaching role to take us across the finish line at VALORANT Masters Toronto. Mindfreak joined Paper Rex as one of its earliest members of the CS:GO team in 2020 and transitioned to VALORANT in early 2021. Together with Paper Rex, he has qualified for 3 VALORANT Champions and 8 VALORANT Masters events to date.

🇸🇬 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 — Paper Rex is happy to announce that Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie will be returning to competitive play for VCT Pacific, Split 1. After following the due process for compulsory enlistment in Singapore, there have been new developments which allow Jinggg to return to compete in VCT Pacific with Paper Rex.

However, we consider ourselves extremely fortunate that recent developments allow Jing Jie to continue competing on our team. 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐠’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬

Upon the conclusion of the 2023 VCT Season, Jinggg returned to Singapore to register for National Service. He has been following the due process, which included medical examinations. It has been assessed that Jinggg has a life-long medical condition that is managed with ongoing treatment. Upon medical evaluation and review, he is medically unfit for military service.

Paper Rex has determined that his medical condition does not affect his ability to compete at the highest levels of esports. Jinggg’s medical condition is a personal and private matter, therefore, Paper Rex and Jinggg’s family request that the public respect his privacy in this regard.

Jinggg has remained signed to Paper Rex as a reserve player throughout this time. With the recent developments, we have signed a contract extension until the end of 2026.

𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬

Experimentation and flexibility has been a pivotal part of the Paper Rex competitive DNA. Every Paper Rex player has their strengths, and having Jinggg active and up to speed unlocks new options for the way Paper Rex wants to play.

In a difficult decision, Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha has been moved to the reserve player role. Monyet remains part of the Paper Rex VALORANT team, ready to assume an active role should the need arise. Monyet has been assimilating well into the Paper Rex team and played an important role in achieving Paper Rex’s Top 3 result in the recently concluded 2024 VCT Masters Madrid.
