Chelsea are interested in Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix.
Palace would prefer to keep their squad together, but their strategy has typically been to develop players and sell for a profit, which can then be reinvested.
Palace are not under significant pressure to sell as the 26-year-old has three years on his contract.
They would consider striking a deal at the right price, but would need to have a replacement identified before allowing Lacroix to leave.

🚨🚨🎙️| Jorginho: “Eden Hazard was ridiculous. Truly ridiculous. My first Premier League match was away against Huddersfield. I thought, ‘this could be a good game for me.’
In the first five minutes I didn’t even touch the ball. Back and forth, and I was like, ‘what’s going on here?’
Eden was on the bench. And when he came on, he did it with that attitude that nothing matters, that he just wants to enjoy himself.
He got the ball, and I thought he was going to lose it, so I tried to stay close to win it back quickly. But he turned, like he always does. And then he started running and dribbling. In the end, he left Pedro through on goal and he scored.
It was the very first ball he touched. I couldn’t believe it. From that moment on, every ball I received, I was like: ‘where’s Hazard?’ I was looking for him to give him every pass.”

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Xabi Alonso as Manager of the Men’s Team.
The Spaniard will begin his role on July 1, 2026, having agreed a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Welcome to Chelsea, Xabi!
''He'll have more of a say than Liam Rosenior and Enzo Maresca.''
Kaveh Solhekol explains why Xabi Alonso has agreed to become Chelsea's next permanent head coach ✍️
🚨🎙INTERVIEWER: It's been over 6 years since you left PSG and joined Chelsea, becoming Chelsea's fan favorite defender. How did you feel when you heard you were leaving PSG, and how what can you tell us about your time at Chelsea?
🗣🎙Thiago Silva: "To be honest, I felt bad when I learned that the club's leadership (Leonardo) wanted to move forward without me. We had just lost the Champions League final to Bayern Munich. Like they say, 'Every disappointment is a blessing.' Lampard, who was the Chelsea coach then, was looking for an experienced defender to strengthen his defense, and I happened to be the defender he wanted".
"I also received an offer from Fiorentina, but the move to Chelsea seemed better for me – playing in the strongest league in Europe, and also because I wanted my kids to grow up in one of the best academies around. So, I decided to join Chelsea as a free agent under Frank Lampard, and things started getting better".
"Although PSG tried to offer me a contract when I had already decided to join Chelsea, it was too late. I just wanted Chelsea at that moment. It was great working with Lampard; he's got a great mentality, he knows exactly what he wants as a coach, and I admire that a lot. He's going to go far as a coach.
"I was surprised when I realized he left the Chelsea job. Then, my former coach came to replace him from PSG as well. Things really happened fast, but it happens for a reason – only God knows. I haven't told anyone this, but he told me in training at Chelsea, 'Look, Thiago, what we couldn't win with PSG, we have to work hard and win it with Chelsea.' Though the squad at Chelsea then, you'd think this team would end up in the round of 16 or at most the quarterfinals of that season's Champions League campaign. Hearing this from my coach motivated me and made me hungry to win the trophy so bad".
"And just like that, we made it to the Champions League final. Everybody thought it was the end of the road for us because Man City back then were on fire, they had a better team than us and everything. Nobody believed we were going to win it, but in our minds, we wanted to win this trophy. All the young players in the squad – Reece, Mason, Havertz, and so on, they were ready and hungry for this trophy as well. I could easily tell, by looking at their faces. It was a very special and emotional moment for everyone when we overcame the fear of Man City to lift the Champions League trophy in 2021. Nobody believed in us, but God did".
"There's something about Chelsea, and it's just about winning. Like after every 5 years, they seemed to be winning trophies no matter the situation. I don't know about the new era at Chelsea, but the former one loved winning and making the fans happy. Chelsea fans don't accept losses, they're hungry for more, they just want to keep winning as long as it makes them happy, and I love that. Life is about winning; though losses might happen sometimes, but they shouldn't be more than the wins".
"If I ever become a coach, I'd love to work with Chelsea again. It's a dream for me."
