So many questions regarding this project & not many sensible answers. Really - 220 trees? #HawrelakPark#yeg#CityofEdmonton#yegparks#Edmonton
Opinion: Let's rethink Hawrelak Park plan. https://t.co/DkbVBbVzMp
We have normalized trauma. We have normalized working beyond our capacity. We have normalized unsafe work environments in the name of healthcare martyrdom.
“The biggest problem for magical thinking, of course, is that the virus refuses to comply. It will not simply go away because people wish it were so and because those with influence say it is so. It is just a biological and epidemiological fact.”

* If you're talking about masks or vaccine passports, they're protections, not restrictions. Seatbelts and drunk driving laws and driver's licenses are not restrictions.

Learning to "live with COVID" doesn't mean we ignore COVID...It means we upgrade ventilation. Offer PCR tests. Wear masks to protect each other. Provide paid sick days for workers. Build trust to increase vaccine uptake....It doesn't mean we ignore it. It means we deal with it!
When they say: “We need to learn to live with COVID”
What they really mean is: Let’s just give up on protecting health workers, essential workers, People with Disabilities, elders, children, unhoused people, immunocompromised people & the vulnerable...from the harms of COVID.
1/4 Since the outset of the pandemic, we’ve learned a lot about the #SARSCoV2 virus that causes #COVID19. Importantly, we’ve learned how the virus can linger in fine aerosols and remain suspended in the air we breathe. https://t.co/V5p7kz3ioX
WTF - did @CMOH_Alberta just say we should limit contact outside our household…as I send my kids to school with 300 other households?! #ableg#abpoli#COVID19AB
AHS will require all of our employees and contracted healthcare providers – including physicians and other frontline healthcare workers – to be fully immunized for COVID-19, by October 31, 2021. Read the news release here: https://t.co/7EhXYd2ENt

“I watched in disbelief, aching for the pain of people in Alberta — aching for the entire country, really, because when your neighbour is playing with fire, there’s a pretty good chance he’s going to burn your place down too.” @JillianHortonMD

So reporting from the home front. Yes, we are admitting COVID patients to my ICU. Yes, they are young & undervaccinated. Yes, we have bed reductions because of staffing issues.
We need a mask mandate now.
We need to test and isolate.
We need to champion complete vaccination.
@JanisIrwin We’re tired.
We’re tired of justifying our wages.
We’re tired of having our skills, training, & education devalued.
We’re tired of working short staffed.
We’re tired of throwing ourselves into harm’s way for banging pot thank-yous & getting rollbacks.
We’re so very very tired.

@Limbictweets As much as we heal & move forward, at times we get little cracks in our armour & the traumas from our past can still get to us, hurt us - making us wonder if we really healed at all. Letting go - easier said than done. Take care.
@Limbictweets Sadly can relate. Lost close friend last Apr. Her last 42 days alone in hospital because of restrictions. (She didn’t have virus.) No last visit, no good-bye, virtual memorial months later. Still processing - such a void. Grief is hard but the journey is much more difficult now.
