It's amazing to see @JNJNews back down on much (but not all!) of their secondary patent pursuits on bedaquiline--but not be willing to publicly acknowledge it because they think even partly doing the right thing for humanity is embarrassing and/or potentially bad for their stock.
Instead, the Stop TB partnership is helping the world to understand the deal, which will allow access to generics in most countries with high TB burden but require 11 nations to continue paying @JNJGlobalHealth's ridiculous prices for a medication that is critical to slowing the scourge of drug-resistant tuberculosis.
In part because you are monopolizing the distribution of bedaquiline, a life-saving medication that most people who need don't get because you keep the price of the drug artificially high.
Because of your bad business and ethics decision, MDR-TB can spread further and faster.
My whole career is just an extension of playing school as a kid. I hoard fun school supplies, grade in glitter gel pen, and fantasize about fun lessons I can teach.
I’m just gonna take a guess and say that the caption I put on my Instagram picture when I got my nose pierced at 15 was, “I did a thing.” Lemme go check.
