We are sorry to hear of Duncan's passing. He was a well-respected, creative and passionate voice not only for theatres in Edinburgh, but right across Scotland.
What extremely sad news. Duncan gave so much to our City’s cultural landscape.
We’ve lost someone who was warm, passionate and extremely talented. A leading light in Edinburgh theatre.
His family can be so proud of all he accomplished, even though their hearts, and ours, ache.
I was lucky enough to work with this legend for 7 years. He was kind, cool, clever... everything you could ask for. He transformed @captheatres. I am overwhelmed today thinking about everything he achieved.
We are deeply saddened to announce that Duncan Hendry, Chief Executive of Capital Theatres from 2012 to 2019, passed away yesterday morning, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. 1/2
