Safety is your responsibility. Police are a reactionary force with response times of 10+ minutes in many populated cities.

You as a human being should know basic first aid and CPR, you should own a fire extinguisher and you should also own and train with a firearm.

If 8 years as a firefighter and EMT taught me anything, it’s that YOU are your own first responder and the first on scene for your own emergency.

Both of these situations had the best possible outcomes, and one of them because Amouranths husband was armed and willing to defend themselves. If that didn’t happen we’d be reading a different headline today.
