made a little satirical comedy sketch since there are no live gigs atm. This one's dedicated to all the Corbynistas who are sick and tired of being called "a cult" ;) https://t.co/eKTJumNXsl
I was supposed to chair the @hasanthehun discussion at SXSW this week, who's been banned from entering the UK by Shabana Mahmood. First of all, @sxsw must facilitate a way for Hasan and Cenk to contribute remotely, as a bare minimum refusal to comply with government censorship.
@PostLeftWatch For one second, put aside your vendetta against Cenk. Is it fair to dismiss the efforts of the Justice Democrat movement who helped to get here elected?
@joewrote Or Ana “opposes genocide” Kasparian applied pressure on a left wing politician and steered her towards a positive change in policy… good! Seriously dude, you don’t have to like Ana but she’s been a great advocate for Gaza. Or can’t you admit even that?
@TerrellSocialst@AnaKasparian Totally! People trying to "own" a leftist youtube host by siding with a supposedly left-wing politician with serious shortcomings on Gaza ("working tirelessly for a ceasefire" etc). Sometimes progressives really can't see the wood for the trees
@sopjap@eiszett Cenk and Ana built the first ever online news show from scratch because audiences found them engaging and charismatic. Yes, they sometimes say infuriating things, (everyone does) but to say they got where they are without any talent is ludicrous.
@eiszett@sopjap Whatever transgressions Ana may or may not have made in the past, her advocacy for Gaza has been truly commendable. The Left talks about building coalitions, then descends into pathetic infighting at the drop of a hat. Rhetoric like this from AOC is truly embarassing imo
@paulmasonnews Not one? Aaron Bastani immediately called out the appalling attack, and condemned all acts of political violence. What do the anti-genocide protests have to do with the Manchester attack? You are conflating British Jews with Israel; that's anti-Semitic in my view
@cathleenc_ Actually, at A level you learn that backbenchers often rebel against the party line. Consequences might include being shunned privately or passed up for later promotion to the front bench, but never suspension from the party
@libertatumadvo@thinkiamsad Fair enough, I haven't seen the movie in a while. But watching as a teenager, that bit really stuck with me. The point of the scene is that Jenny's involvement with the protesters is a mistake though right, and she should go back to Alabama?
@HewsonJack@owenjonesjourno@tomxhart Every crime costs the taxpayer money, as it soaks up time and resources from police, courts, CPS etc. Should every crime be considered terrorism, as that money "could have been used to help children in poverty" (something that is clearly not Starmer's priority anyway)
