Quality training shouldn't come at the expense of welfare.
NUPAPWU calls for a fair and sustainable framework that protects the welfare of medical and pharmaceutical interns who continue to contribute to healthcare service delivery while undergoing clinical training.

Uganda Petroleum, Chemical and Allied Workers Union petition H.E, president @KagutaMuseveni not to assent the NDHPA Bill, 2025 due to Clause 31 that is non-inclusive and contrary to regional standards of EAC and @WHO guidelines.
@MinofHealthUG@StateHouseUg
Clause 31 of the NDHPA Bill, 2025 has raised wider concerns, including among teachers. We thank educators for standing in solidarity with pharmaceutical workers & advocating for a competence-based, inclusive approach for all who qualify. @KagutaMuseveni@MinofHealthUG@UNATU_ORG
@PharmacistsUg@MinofHealthUG@UNDAuthority A professional body should stand on facts and give realistic opinions to guide enabling laws for the country.
Which part of the guidelines or requirements for WHO ML3 certification states that, " manufacturing of drugs should be under direct supervision of a pharmacist"?
@PharmacistsUg@MinofHealthUG@UNDAuthority I believe the best approach is to retract the bill and clarify that clause as you have done in the letter. Having been involved in training both professions, I have never seen PSU register pharmaceutical scientists, or any other qualified scientists, as pharmacists.
