This is Michael Samson, your 2020 Walnut Creek City Council Candidate. Samson is a teacher, musician, and a dedicated progressive. Samson will reinvest in community needs (1/3)
Tomorrow is Nov. 3
We are not exaggerating when we say that the results of this election will determine the fate of the world.
This election will decide whether the City Council will passively accept injustice as inevitable, or actively fight to dismantle oppressive systems...
Our campaign's greatest chance of success comes when young people turn out to vote in big numbers. So if you haven't voted yet, make sure you do! Remind your friends that an individual vote makes a bigger impact in a local election than it does anywhere else.
Head to the link in our bio to find the County election website, which easily tells you your in-person options for voting early (now through 11/2) and on Election Day! LETโS DO THIS
We are less than a week away from the election & the best way to ensure your vote is counted is by dropping your ballot off at a secure, county ballot drop box OR vote in-person, early at your specific polling location.
What happens now if Trump legitimately loses the election, but then contests the results in the Supreme Court? What happens if its conservative majority sides with him and declares him President? Do we expect the DNC to resist that outcome?
Our disappointment in the Democratic Party cannot be overstated. There is much that they could have done to resist Amy Coney Barrett's nomination. They could have impeached Bill Barr. They could have boycotted the senate vote.
Feinstein even hugged Lindsey Graham and said "This has been one of the best set of hearings that Iโve participated in. Thank you for your leadership." ๐คฏโ๏ธ This is the party that's supposed to protect us from fascism?
We are in the home stretch with just 10 days to go before Election Day. Can you help us by:

because we saw that the police will not use them responsibly. WCPD demonstrated this again last night.
City Council never took those requests seriously and last night we saw the consequences of their inaction. (3/3)
Last night (Oct. 23, 2020), the WCPD fired a rubber bullet directly into the chest of a man while he was protecting other protesters from dangerous traffic conditions downtown. The victim was arrested, at one point being handcuffed to his hospital bed. (1/3)
There are so many problems with this situation that it's hard to know where to begin. It was absurd and unjust.
Since the June 1st protest, we have been pushing the Walnut Creek City Council to ban rubber bullets, as well as tear gas, (2/3)
We will be hosting this week's Thoughtful Thursday conversation with Rossmoor Progressives TOMORROW night instead, to avoid conflicting with the presidential debate. Hope to see you then!
