Today we celebrate #IndigenousPeoplesDay. The cultures, languages, and traditions of indigenous communities enrich our world. We stand with them in preserving their heritage and achieving self-determination.
Fact: The U.S. is the #1 generator of plastic waste globally🌎 and ranks as high as third among countries contributing to coastal 🌊 plastic pollution.
Solution: Simply put, we need to reduce the amount of plastic we use. You can help by:
1) Using fewer single-use plastics and advocating for their elimination.
2)Making sure what you put in the bin🗑️ can actually be recycled in your community or choosing reusable options.
3)Calling on lawmakers🧑⚖️ to enact minimum recycled content standards and improve recycling ♻️ systems.
