Cover cropping is an essential practice for soil health. 🌾
Planting certain crops and vegetation can greatly benefit the soil and contribute to its overall health. 💪
Crops like legumes (clover, peas, vetch) and grasses (rye, oats) are sown to cover the soil during fall and winter. ❄️
They prevent soil erosion, suppress weeds, and add organic matter when they're eventually tilled into the soil. Over time, cover cropping helps increase soil organic matter, leading to healthier soil and a richer harvest. 🌱🌿🌻

Forget ⚗️ serotonin - this is the real mood-boosting 😁 molecule.
You may have heard of serotonin-rich foods like 🍫 dark chocolate. However, eating them won’t boost your happy hormones - at least not because of its chemical composition (we’ll leave the enjoyment of 🤤 taste aside).
These foods 🍦 don’t work, because the 🧠 brain doesn’t absorb serotonin from food - it only produces it. But to make serotonin, your brain needs another molecule. Enter tryptophan: an essential amino acid and a building block of serotonin. Essential means we can only get it by eating food. Which foods? How about a whole group of whole food 🌾 superfoods: millets.
Millets, especially pearl and finger millet, are high in tryptophan. Adding them to your daily diet could well help you to feel a little bit 😁 💪 happier.

Let’s celebrate one of the most wonderful trees in the world - the coconut tree!
Also known as the Tree of Life, every part of the coconut has a purpose, both for practical and spiritual means. Coconut trees are an important part of tropical and coastal ecosystems, preventing soil erosion and water runoff. With a lifespan of 60-80 years, it is considered a “three-generation tree” as it can support a farmer, his children, and his grandchildren, as well as the soil that supports us all.

Cultivating native trees and crops are integral to #SaveSoil of the region and to revive its health and richness. Congratulations to the coconut farmers of the South for your efforts to enrich the community’s economy and ecology through integrated farming practices. It is time to complement modern agricultural systems with traditional farming practices that kept the soil and the farmer rich for several millennia. -Sg @AgriGoI@cpsavesoil
