A little over a month ago, I started building a UGC engine for my app Imposter AI
Month 1: → 79.8M+ views from UGC creator accounts → #20 in Family on the App Store → 200,000+ new downloads
Our playbook: Find a format that already gets attention → prove it works → give creators a repeatable system → track what hits → scale the winners
The product shouldn’t interrupt the content. It should be part of why the content is entertaining. When you get that right, creators stop feeling like advertisers and start becoming distribution channels built around the product. 79.8M+ views in month one. This was our first go at trying to build a UGC engine. Still early.
What is the highest leverage skill for a founder?
-Coding?
-Content Creation?
-Data Analytics?
I say talent acquisition.
This is Tomi, we found him and helped him cultivate his content and he's now generated us over 300 million views from all platforms.
In December 2025, three of us started building our first app.
None of us had experience scaling an app company. We had to figure out everything ourselves: product, development, distribution, monetization, content, and eventually how to build a UGC engine around the product.
Eight months later, Imposter AI has:
• Reached #18 on the App Store Family Chart
• Generated $200K+ in total revenue
• Reached 1M+ total customers
• Been built and scaled completely bootstrapped
The part we are most proud of is that this was our first app ever.
We didn’t start with a huge team, outside funding, or a playbook. We started as three people trying things, learning quickly, and figuring out what actually moved the needle.
Imposter AI became the foundation for what we are building at TappedIn Apps.
Now the goal is to take everything we learned from building and scaling our first app and apply that playbook across an entire portfolio of consumer apps.
Not a bad start for three people who had no idea what they were doing eight months ago.
