This is my home.
And it looks like another planet.
My Dad, Michael Doering, is right to say that "It's frustrating in #SouthAustralia that we don't get recognized as being in drought."
@marshall_steven, @TimWhetstoneMP, please give our farmers a fair go.
While the bushfire crisis cripples the nation, local farmers want to remind South Australians about the extreme drought on Adelaide's doorstep. If it doesn't break soon, some could be forced to walk away altogether. https://t.co/8ftPfFYTVQ @caseytreloar #7NEWS
It cost @SamuelDoering more than $10k to get home from Europe, and after all that he still can't see his family in SA.
He told @busbygoers how he ended up stuck in Sydney.

As far as I know, the date is untarnished, with the only notable event being V.E. Day in 1945.
With this blank slate, we can celebrate together.
May 8 would respect our shared history and reflect our humour. Neither would it put salt into the wound of Aboriginal identity.
What about changing #AustraliaDay to May 8th?
"May 8" sounds like "Maaate", and that is who we are as Aussies.
We are mates who help our neighbours, who look out for one another no matter our birthplace or story.
Nothing could be more Australian.
I love looking at old illustrations and photographs. 👀📷🔎
I am struck by the number of church spires in the vicinity of St Pauls - what is now the glass and concrete City of London. It seems Old Parliament House is also visible further up stream.
An extremely busy view of the River Thames by Robert Havell #London c.1831 - with new London Bridge on show and a sprinkling of those new fangled steamboats
Politics has become more about being somebody rather than doing something.
A new emphasis on truth-telling in a post-T***p world needs to be spearheaded by leaders in government. We, as the electorate, need to call out misinformation.
A pleasing and punchy read, @latingle.
@ScottMorrisonMP is kicking the climate change can down the road, and passing on the problem to the next generation. Either that, or he has no plan.
The PM should be making plans, reducing emissions and aiming for targets, not stumbling around in a fog of delusion.

An effective and functioning government, with a compassionate and intelligent leadership is the most attractive thing ever.

There is no time to waste when it comes to tackling the crises we face. That's why today, I am heading to the Oval Office to get right to work delivering bold action and immediate relief for American families.
